A brand new trailer for the mountain bike advocacy doc, Pedal-Driven, cut especially for their new online fundraising campaign through Kickstarter.com (http://kck.st/dB830m). The non-profit doc is scheduled for release in April 2011 and the company is pushing to raise $15,000 before Nov. 5.
That's awesome!

I dont understand why it takes the government so long to "ok" a trail, this is the main reason trials are built illegaly. Nobody has the time, or the money to get their building project approved. GOVERNMENT: I hope you're listening!
I realise its for a good cause and all that but I really don't like the stereotypical American over dramatic theme of it all. Just makes it seem a bit cheesey.
I know what you mean el-nombre, I was kinda thinking the same thing. Don't get me wrong the vid is still awesome, well worth VOD.
well bikebuster, the usfs invented the concept of hurry up and wait. they know for sure that they can wait it out longer than anyone can afford to invest thier time. i live in leavenworth washington, where a lot of the doc was filmed, and am in the movie. 7 years ago we formed a group, at the request of the usfs, called trail washington. check us out at trail washington.org. since then we have proposed several projects. every time they tell us," well, you guys know this project will be at least 5 years out, right?". if you asked them tomorrow," what do you have planned for freeride mountain bikeing in our area?" they would say "nothing". so, 5 YEARS FROM WHEN?! that TOTALLY SUCKS! this is the game ladies and gents. we need to redefine the rules here. hopefully, this doc can be used to get the leverage our user group needs! make this a big deal! donate to the doc. when the doc comes out make sure that your local usfs sees it. e-mail links and comments to your congressmen. get involved! sounds cheesy right? but without us its just gonna be another 5 years. SEND IT!
This is awesome. It takes a lot of work to get legal trails established. Hopefully this bike-umentary can show us all how to go about it in the most efficient way possible. Best of luck!
i hate it when people ruin trails
it happens far too often. if the national park in the uk let us build say 1 track they wouldn't have to spend time ripping them down and moaning when we rebuild them! might send this to them

At the end of the day. Biking is a minority and senators, governments and rangers have bigger and more financial benefitting things to do than approve mountain bike trails.
Hopefully this will change something, but I'm doubting it.

While I agree that we need more freedom to build legally, there is a lot of environmental damage done by people who don't know what they are doing. This organization is making huge strides in building trails which have minimal environmental effect and that attitude and education needs to be extended to all riders and builders. Yes build, but let's learn to do it right.
I like the part where the guy at 1:39 says, "it isnt easy being a ranger by any means." So many people are quick to generalize the people in power and think they are all a*sholes. I am sure there are lots of rangers who LOVE to ride. There being torn between two things and its brutal. I also think that the government needs to slack off a bit and allow us riders to enjoy the outdoors. What is the point of having wilderness and only being able to look at it. You have to be able to get into it, to truly enjoy it. The earth was created, by God, for man to enjoy. So let us enjoy it.
@jimmyrecard You tell that to the rangers that destroyed the Storeton trails. You tell that to the guy that stopped me and my mates from building a trail by threatening to call rangers!
You realize it's their job right? If they didn't enforce the rules they would be fired and wouldn't be able to support their family. The rules that are set by the higher ups need to be changed in order for the people who enforce them to change.
Yes I do realise that they are supporting their families and bla bla bla, but why do they have to be such pr*cks about enforcing rules like they allways are?
Here in this region the forest service recently tank trapped several of the entrances to several of the most traveled trails. Amazingly trails around the tank traps have popped up almost as quickly as the traps popped up. I just wish that they could do a better job of keeping the ATV's off of our non-motorized trails.
Perfect job guys! This video looks really great...we have a lot of problems with stupid laws here as well because of lot of national parks in Slovakia...SloMBA support IMBA
Dude, you've got a lot of very nice trails in Slovakia (Ruzomberok, Bachledova, Jasna). In Poland making trails in the forest is simply forbidden even it's not a national park. That's becouse sice couple of years the minister of environment is forester. Now forests are holy.
I find it funny that there are atv and mx trails everywhere in the national forest near my house, but the government flips out mountain bikers.
This is all based in Washinton state. North Cascades have so much potential. Now if we can just get Stevens Pass opened up. They claim here are wolverines up there, such a crock on Stevens.
I hope they include the Wilson pass trails in the full film, only kind of a key moment in trail and government cooperation, and only kind of the sickest trails... Go Jimmy's mom!!
lets not kid ourselves, we all know the illegal trails are filled with bigger, badder, more insane obstacles and jumps. screw the man go out and build, and ride the trails we all love!
THAT IS SOOOO TRUE, SOME PEOPLE DONT GET WHAT COMES OUT OF MAKING AN AMAZING BIKE TRAIL. THIS VIDEO TELLS ALL, I LOVE THIS VIDEO
mountain biking will always be frowned upon until these people understand what it feels like to be free on your bike goverment and such like will never understand glad to see people are trying

great video. Me and my friends' trail got torn down by gay rangers! sucks! Hopefully Stafford Lake Bike Park will get created in Marin thanks to Mark Weir
awesome vid so deep! that kid on the seesaw id gonna be the future of mountainbiking! we need cash for scotland trails though!!
"When we get together and talk, we realize we are on the same side"... that's how it should be.
Cheers
