Will rock music ever return to mtb clips? Plus, this overused "getting out of the car filmed from a low angle" shot... The riding was great, but this style of filming and editing is getting old and repetitive.
I'm with you guys, I got bored after about a minute, just generic repetitive riding. Guys in pro kit riding some trails with a lot of slo mo. I was really hoping after lifecycles that video makers would start producing some really unique stuff, but even with the hoards of HDslr users out there nothing is starting to stand out
I know; but I was just showing that there are videos out there that aren't just 'racer bois' on their bling bikes riding the same sort of stuff.
whats wrong with self promotion... you got to get your work out there not sit and wait to be found... nice vid
I agree that this isn't the most original video, but I still really liked it. Even though its been done before, its done really well here. Sick bikes, sweet trails, and steezy riding!
the shots are very static, the cameras either still or slowly panning, makes for some good shots but yeah its overused and didnt really suit the riding or music. more dynamic shots would make it much more interesting (ie following the rider a bit)
i disagree. i like music more like this, i like more style and flow, then bangers, and huking it. my riding style is more having fun, then trying to kill myself, and going for big hits, and thats how i feel rock an rock music makes the riding feel in the videos at least.
Awesome trail, awesome filming, awesome riding (not just 'pinning' it, but great style - loved the whip). Well deserving of VOD!
i feel like with downhill videos every little thing is glorified and put into slow mo. not saying its bad or anything, it just gets a little annoying haha. its a good video tho, i love the bikes. thumbs up
http://www.pinkbike.com/video/179195/ mtb video with def leppard!
cool video, dont you think the full on dh bikes were a bit over the top with that trail though... probably would have been fine with a decent hardtail to be honest.
i agree with the self promotion point, fair enough, a little is good, but there was a bit too much at the start...the fight at the end was the best though
I dont want to be negative as at least these guys are out riding and filming, but it was a bit unexciting. Maybe its the miserable british weather making me jealous of the sunny dry conditions but nevertheless. . . .zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Loved it...
poor Euros...can't they get utes over there? always assembling their bikes out of the back of tiny cars...

I've watched most of the episodes of the BBC top gear online, US top is in it's first season but i can't stand the hosts. And i'm pretty sure the episode where they first introduced the maloo ute was a couple seasons back, but they had it in the UK vs australian top gear episode in the drag race which was more recent haha.
Not gonna lie, I probably shouldn't know that much about top gear lol. The show is just way too addicting

I only know its called a ute because my girlfriend is australian and half the time its another freaking language!
I hope this isn't what downhill is coming to. It should be about having fun and pushing your limits, not looking good to a camera. The race kits and top of the line bikes were completely unnecessary for that trail, and while they may "pop out" more, there is no practical reason to have that equipment. Back to the riding, it is getting to be repetitive to the point of almost not being able to watch videos. I'm sick and tired of people pretending to drift berms, while just skidding into them, and so many boring shots in super slow mo. I'm not saying that everyone should go back to the big hucking and rock type videos, just try to mix it up.
I can't help but agree.... but.... not everyone can rip like Steve Peat. I personally wouldn't dream of wearing clothes like that even if I was faster than Peaty... I'd have to kick my own ass if I left the house looking like that!!!
I think u should ride that trail before saying that..
Downhill(180-200mm)bike trail time: 1.58
Enduro(150)trail time: 2.11
Downhill(180-200mm)bike trail time: 1.58

So what you saying? You're as fast as Peaty? We have now all seen video footage that would strongly suggest otherwise!! My god, don't get so offended... you must be daft if you think wearing clothing like that won't draw attention. Some people, including me, are bound to think you look ridiculous. Get over it!
And man its obvious im not faster that peaty , are u serious?, i just ride for fun and yeah im f*cking slow! problem?????
No, I think you're the one with the problem.... If you're going to argue- make it clear who the hell you're arguing with!! CHILL WINSTON!!
Dude, I ain't into making enemies on a bloody website! If you upload a vid where you're wearing the riding equivalent of bermuda shorts you're going to get comments!! Good on ya for riding, good choice of bike, nice trail, good weather, well filmed.... just ridiculous clothing!! Laters.
I think the big bikes were a little overkill for the trail. At least an all mountain bike they could have rode to the top instead of pushed

How did you get those dolly looking shots? I dont know anyone with a hand that steady, Or did you have a fig-rig?

^ agreed the scott voltage kills it with the blue rims, however when i find out what the illuminous yellow bike was... girlfriends out, bikes in
well i want to be working from may to september so i will see what i can save up. but when im older i'm looking towards one
So, is every film critic a director simultaneously? Do I have to be a bike manufacturer to test bikes and complain about their geometry if I don't like it? Didn't think so. Of course I expected comments such as yours, but that does not make it any more valid...
well, didnt expected you to understand me, so ill make it clearer.
I'm just saying that those guys deserved some respect for their time and effort invested in this video.
good VOD, keep the good work!

The dude in the white looks ridiculous. Why do you have to look like a prick to ride DH? Good riding, but a truly offensive get-up.
Ill try to find some time and lift some weights so you could vote for POD when i upload my shirtless photoshoot
