You need to realise where he's coming from with this. Old school MTB will always have it's place, techy, pure downhill runs will always be a part of racing and the sport, but this approach of Aaron's is logical and pretty darn cool.

I can imagine downhill racing taking on the approach he's talking about, but the most difficult part is finding the right locations to do so.

if we start trying to imitate motocross then we get ridiculed even more for being 'wannabe crossers without engines'

downhill mountain biking is its own unique sport and the last thing we need to do is start copying motocross

I'm assuming you all know about his backround? ie/ pretty damn good mx racer, and bmx racer, both of which have big jumps as a pretty staple aspect of them! i do believe he is a bit biased.

Its not about popularity. Its the depth of the sport that makes downhill outstanding, even if only the minority get to appreciate it...

i race motocross and race downhill adn it shows i race motocross as my style is shown whilst riding i think its good to see pro mountain bikers riding motocross as it's another form of training.

yeh but you would think that hes now riding for trek a movie that comes out halfway through wc season its not going to look too good because he will be riding the session for quite a while before it comes out...........Anyway I like the look of the 303 better
