its seriously nothing more than any other bike. I have a grease gun and after a ride i go to both nipples on the rail cars and squeeze some in (whey). I'm quite fussy so have rebuilt it twice for fun, and there been no gunk in the cars or anything, it really didnt need it. Have taken it out in the mud, and by the end of the day it felt a tad gritty bouncing up and down, but the suspension works so well its unoticable on the track. Its coping fine with the dusty trails atm as well. Cat reccomend one enough, the only bike i would possibly want to replace it with is the 2011 303 DH WC, but i dont have 4 grand to spend on a frame...
so maintenence is wipe down the rails, and after a ride grease the cars, 30 second job, no harder than oiling a chain or wiping down stanchions.
if your buying second hand though, ensure the rails are working well, take the shock out and cycle it through the travel. mine was a little rough when i bought it, but i really wanted it so i took a chance and with some love its buttery smooth now.
