it is true, you can now get fines for the most rediculous things now. almost got one for not having a bell on my bike, as if a person in a car can hear a tiny little ding from a bell

saw this on utube. this man is a boss. also a little ballsy to put his name out after purposly hitting a police car and other stuff. knowing the cops, theyll probably fin him for destroying property and jail him with assualt on an officer with a deadly weapon

The local "PCSO" aka police wanna be but hasnt got the grades and also cant arrest you, tryed to give me an on the spot fine for riding on the pavement. Turned out I proved the "PCSO" wrong and actually told him I was under 16 so I am allowed to ride on the pavement, and also I am under 16 so he cannot give me an on the spot fine. He didnt reply much apart from, ride carefully.

I'm all for bike lanes, and using bikes, but from my dad's perspective, he drives a huge van as he's a contractor. some cyclists cant even stay within the bike lane as they're biking, even when there are no obstructions, and some just decide to swerve into car lanes. are they that f*cking stupid to think a huge van can stop that easily?like you're on a bike. it takes you max 3 metres to stop. it takes a huge van like 7. my dad fears hitting these bikers because he knows, even if they swerve into traffic, the blame will be on him for not stopping.

I experience this too in New Haven. I drive a beer truck and I have almost ran over so many people because they swerve into the lane at the last second. And obviously beer trucks don't stop too quikly. Not to mention they're 90% hipsters.

This is a GREAT video... thank you, THANK YOU!!!! for your talented physicality to get the point across. I hope that you didn't sustain any injury from it. I hold 3 tickets from 22nd and 9th Ave (unpaid... put me in jail). All at 9AM... sleepy road, no traffic. I had to convince the cop not to take my 7 year old son's calling him an "a*shole" personal, that he learned that word at school. True be told, my boy was dead on correct. One time I witnessed a woman getting a ticket for NOT having a bell. I have news for anyone who steps in front of me... I WILL wake them up with my voice not a tinkling little bell (which I do have).

Bahaha I hate bacon
I got a Ticket for riding on the wrong side of the road $250 and my friend got a ticket for not having brakes on his bike.
when the bmx bike is made with no brake mounts in the first place
he brought a letter From the bike shop saying the bike is made that way he can't put brakes on it. Judge said oh Well guess its not street legal then

Well, Bikes (regardless of wheel size) are still considered transportation devices, and or vehicles. Thereby also are required by federal law to follow all rules and laws of the roadways. So riding the wrong way, or on the wrong side of the road is a traffic violation. Not having a working or functioning brake is also a modified vehicle. Bikes shops (under federal law) are required to sell ALL bicycles with a functioning brake. Even if the manufacturer of the bike does not include on on it's product. As much as it sucks, the judge, and the bacon were right in this case.
In this video, the guy was wrongfully ticketed for NOT riding his bike in a bike lane. Bike lanes are just provided as a safety service by the city to better protect cyclists from auto accidents. There is no requirements under federal guidelines that a cyclist must use them. They only need to adhere to the traffic laws that all other vehicles must abide by on the roadways.
