hey guys,thats an awesome movie...it's not all about dirt jumps and dh races..."are you scared of speeds"!! this is more like a 'scenery movie'... like he said 'The Searchers', not the trickers or the speeders...enjoy the view, cause its beautiful in my opinion..
I have long wanted to use "the ecstasy of gold" as a song in a bike video, but have never had footage that would justify it, and I think you guys have the same problem. You have to have epic riding for an epic song, or else it just doesn't work. Great idea though, and the huge panoramic scenery shots were awesome. Hope to see an updated, refined, more epic version?
good clip, i enjoyed it, something different. loved the epic sceneic shots they were cool. tidy edit, good job.
amazing landscape, how can anyone say otherwise... i liked the drama, makes a change to having to listen to either slipknot or fort minor... glad to see someone is making an effort to step outside the box and be creative with the editing... props to the editing/directing/cameraman. VOD

Awesome video that like, music goes well, love the zoomed out bits where they are riding down the rocks and that.

i love the place where theyre filming!i love freeriding man!!!but i dont think the riding its anything special..its just normal..
the beginning (when the camera slowly moves down from the tree tops to the rider and the scenery scene) was the best in this film. however, the rest wasn't not that impressive, because straight from the beginning it set up a mood of a really interesting and beautiful composition...
overall: the video is sort of alright.
tip: try to keep it all in the same theme

I think for what his intended purpose was (the uni course) it is very well done. I can only imagine that had he just been making a video for shiz and giggles, it would've had better music. But since this is for a class, I'm sure Megadeath or 50-cent would've been out of place...
Very nice filming. I dislike the editing though. It looks like you didn't put enough effort in it. I mean, there are some areas where a transition (fade) would've been useful. Especially when switching from a rider to another (or from a scene to another).
Overall, good video. A bit monotonous maybe.

I think that the video is quite nice, however, I think that the music etc is trying to make it a bit more epic than it actually is, I think your needing a bit more beautiful riding footage, other than just using the beauty of the land to do the work, and also maybe some more inspiring riding. Normally I wouldnt bother with creative critiscism, but as its for a Uni course then I think you need it. Its a good start, and the theme is good, I just think it needs the flow, feel, filming beauty, and most of all - riding, to go with it.
well i realy liked just cos its not someone uploading a pro edit/film thats not theres that you hav probably seen before and it getting VOD. but this was well done, its really hard 2 make a decent film if the riders ur filming arent that good ( i know from experience, haha sorry lads). this would be mental good if it were of some pro's, stil really liked it tho, well done, keep filming =)
gotta love "the good, the bad, and the ugly" soundtrack. awesome vid man. nice camera work and good editing. would've been a little better with more flow in the vid, but none the less still sick. well done!!!

Good cinimatography, however it was a piss poor choice in music. You don't need something with a fast beat, but I do want to be enguaged with the video...all in all, this was no peotic documentary, but rather a test of my attention span to see if i could make it through the video without falling asleep.

lol everyone else was thinking lord of the rings 2 huh? then at the end the names were archer and I loved it, views were amazing, song went perfect but it could have used a little more intense shots to go with the amazingnese theme of it. WELL DONE
I loved the film because it was poetry with bikes, and not just GO GO GO FASTER FASTER FASTER ... brilliant ... oh yea, and I saw the Scott Gambler FR 20
It portrayed the scenerary of great mountain biking, this was like poetry in a film, instead of the being a bad ass and bombing hills and hucking jumps side of mountain biking
I was waiting for Clint Eastwood to pop out and shoot someone.

"The Searchers" I guess if you're ride consists of some Broke-Back Mtn side riding they've really found it, with a track like that you kinda expect it to start to pick up at some point and see some kick-ace shreding.....VOD Disappointment
reeto, u fookin whinging bunch, cant believe your slaging the riding off, not every vid has to be some totaly rad big air loads of tricks type of thing. enjoy it for what it is. the tracks there riding, just cant be rode at huge speed, steep and technical. i would be very intrested to see what the rest of you looked like riding here!
some of the shots are stunning but as everyone has said you need more riding. and you cant hide behind the excuse 'not every vid has to be some totaly rad big air loads of tricks type of thing' when you put in attempts at x ups and jumps etc.
I was expecting to see Keaneu Reeves or Kevin Kostner in this! "One mountain....One man.....and the desire to conquer all his fears in a world...." or something like that.
there not the best riders but that video was brilliant i cant be sure but that looks like the lake district to.
what course is your brother doin at uni cos i think i'll be having word with ucas see if i can do that instead
