it looks so sick compared to all the other gearbox bikes
with the exception of honda
http://www.pinkbike.com/video/8166/
Nice Bike thats amazing
get on a bike and ride
g
This said, it still have the other gearbox advantages, like you don't need worry about the derailler hitting a rock or something else and just snap off. The use of the chainguide or chain tensioner is pretty useless as the chain with always remained tensioned.
this is not Polish site and Polish isn't international language,so write in English
Sweet BTW!
its one of the best ideas iv seen in mountainbiking the fact the the derailer is so protected and the you can shit down without pedaling
sweet bike
Honda's is very similair,
But the gearbox is slightly slower, and also contained in a 'box'.
Ironhorserider, watch the end of the video. They spin the back wheel and shift; the cranks are not moving.
The distance between the rear hub and pivot of a single pivot does not change so there is no chain stretch.
Personally I think bikes like this are the future of MTB, I really hope that the idea of putting a derailer and cassette on the frame of the bike does not get patented. A high center single pivot with such a drive system gets rid of two of the main problems with high center single pivot (extreme chain growth and pedal bob) while maintaining the simplicity and good axle path of a high pivot bike.
He designed and built a an innovative full suspension bike.
Second of all, a 'regular' bike?
People said that bicycle suspension was a silly and expensive fad years ago.
look at when he rails the berms.
the bottom part of the frame past the bb will hit the ground before the shock even bottoms out!
thats how it looks to me anyway.
my dad did soemthign similiar, but he got a motorbike frame, added pedals, but kept the motorbike gearbox, and we where like, OMG,. you can go 60 on it ?!
nice dad,
I personally would ride this. Heavier to ride this "gear box" instead of a derailure, Harder to fix than a derailure because the derailure is open, More suspension options instead of having to run a single pivot.
And in regards to TYPX post. My friend lem has built a 7inch freeride fully from scratch and now hes building a dj/street ht, Im not saying what this kid made isnt impressive but theres no point to the gearbox and you gain no efficiancy, which is the point of a gear box.
i say props to the dude and lets hope we get more innovative people out there! i like the frame tbh, but i dont like the forks thats all i have to complain about
