testin the cable cam at carlmont without many trees... using roots and bushes. works great over a 140 foot long shot.. to bad we could only get the rider in for a sec, cudnt find a good camera angle.. SORRY about the constipated cows.. idk why my editing program slowed down the music

i was thinkign about building one of these up but i was wondering about the angle, is it just guess and check or what?

yea. with a DSLR and a semi wide angle lens (18mm) you have a better margin for error the wider you go. but we just looked at the rig halfway through the shot and determined what the best angle would be there and then tweaked it to make it better.. rider timing is deffinetly the hardest part

How does the camera move when u want it to

flag Cmontjumper (Dec 5, 2011 at 6:34)
if you mean like title and pan while moving down the line, that cant be done. we can adjust it when its not goin down the line but once we let go of it, its done. just goes

could be your processor can't handle the footage, and your shutters probbly too fast but idl if u can change it in the 5100

i had it on 60. but it mite have been changed to 500 for a few shots.. cause i accidentally had it on apature priority and thats what it was when i switched it back to manual.
