In the space of 12 months, my son has gone from riding a balance & pedal bike at 2 years old to hitting a blue run in a Scottish trail centre. Shot on an iPhone 4/4S. Emotive soundtrack from Andy Williams (famous Honda Ad), Fenech Soler and Peter Bjorn. Been asked so bikes : Kokua Jumper Balance Bike (Jackson Goldstone's first rig) and Ridgeback MX14. Portable jet washer at the end is a Mobi V15.

Thanks folks. My son is watching this everyday and loves your comments. It's been the Pinkbike vids that have inspired him. He'd rather watch 3 Minute Gaps and Follow Me than cartoons and kids TV. So glad I got him a full face as he's already had a face plant. Cheers, Cal

Thats awesome that he watches "follow me" and "3 minute gaps"

In 10-15 years I'm expecting to see him @ UCI DH WC! Goodluck to him and his riding in whichever direction he goes in.

 Cheers guys......much appreciated

He's only had his 14" wheeler 3 months and the bearings are shot on the rear cassette and the BB is goosed. Sheer torque I reckon ! He likes to "mash the cranks" as he proclaims on the approach to big hills...

Having been inspired by videos from this community it's great to give something back to yourselves.

Take it easy out there.....

Makes me wish I had a father growing up.
Really good to see there are more awesome dads out there, especially ones into biking getting their kids set up to kill it.

The next generation is gonna be faster than ever

Pretty inspirational mate, your doing a fantastic job as a parent and because you have got your son in to biking so early he will be sure to do well if he chose to make a career out of mountain biking. I will have to look out for him at Fort William in 14 years time ! Keep up the good work wee man Smile

This vid made me wish my son was a bit older he is 18months and can just about stand on a balance bike but I think it's a bit on the large side (we got for free though) how long did it take home to get the hang of it?

And Finlay keep up the awesome rippin if you do Danny Hart will have to look out

Hi - I would say he got into the plastic bike in the house with great ease and then instinctively knew what do to on the Kokua Jumper. He watched Jackson Goldstone's school run video and that was it. He could ride a bike with stabilisers but was cornering too fast and nearly tipping over. The first time I took the stabilisers off he just rode off into the sunset. In summary, balance bike helped with the obvious balance & weight transfer and the push bike helped with pedalling and learning to use the brakes. Having said that, the Kokua had a brake. Cheers

Thanks for all the feedback guys :o)

@dhchase101 - these are German bikes. The model here is a Kokua Jumper. I got mine from www.likeabike.co.uk but there must be US importers somewhere. I first saw this bike when Jackson Goldstone made an appearance. They come with two elastomers, two seat posts in different lengths with an aluminium frame and alloy wheels. High quality indeed.....

Nice one......did you see the older cats on the MTB tandem ? The woman on the back must have been 60 or so. Very lucky with the weather that day. I see someone stacked it and was taken to A&E. Not good...Cheers for the feedback..

Ouch. Managed to get round all 7 without stacking it but my Dad had a bad off that took him out for Glentress which is definatelt the best. The freeride section is very good aswell as I took my Dj bike too. Smile

Outstanding! What all dads should aspire to be like. Unfortunately all my 3 year old girl wants to do is play dollies, not from lack of trying to get her to ride her bike mind. Props to you mate.
