cbcharlieham2 XC would be sucks on DH bike that's why no one using DH bike for it.
Pedaling on downhil/lfreeride bike is uncool for sure because sus is pumping and tires are viscous thick.
But on XC bike it can give a lot of fun because bike like this ride almost without pedaling and you can ride trough big aera and dont be tired.
For sure even the most hardcore DH/FR rider want sometimes chillout and go for a ride on XC bike.
