Karwendel Sunset Ride
Johannes Pistrol rides a fine 2500m peak in the Karwendel, Austria, at the end of November 2011. Unusually late snow fall and dry conditions mean that the alpine riding season just goes on and on. During sunset the whole mountain turned red for 10 minutes, was totally awesome!

This is a new definition of All Mountain Riding . Great, I hope this riding picks up. I love to ride realy step stuff, so this is something on my list !

awesome vid and epic trail! seems odd to me tho the rider had almost no rear shock movement at all.. helps with picking the back wheel up i guess, but over rocks like that with such a soft fork.. seems a waste of being on a full sus imo. Props for hiking up that tho!

The rear shock isn't moving because steepness of the terrain makes it so that there isn't any weight on it. The front looks soft because all of his weight is on it.

even on the parts like at the start and at1min40 where he is on a fairly normal slope, there is no noticable movement at all.. each to their own .. but a softer rear shock would have slackened the head angle and gave better rolling traction,,

yeah but check out the boing-y-ness as he first gets on his bike at the 50 sec mark. I'm not making a right or wrong call, its more fun just doing forensics on this video. I'm leaning towards his riding style (aka riding the shit out of the brake) and the angle makes the back look stiffer than it is. Cheers.
