P.much. Past that idea you could always make a bit of a pyramid around it as support/make the firepit bigger.

Yeah, definitely worth looking at, when i get round to actually putting up the chimney im going to work out how much it would cost to do it with bricks, and see if everyone else is up for it. It would definitely be my first choice in methods though. Shame i am a skint trail builder haha
