I rode the trail with codes, they worked good I got some rear fade, but I have a 160, which Im planning to change out. Might change the pair but I want floaters, see different opinions but I want to put hope floater rotors on with the code calipers.

Code work well since the redesign. I havent had any fade issues and they are as quiet as a church mouse unless there super wet....but there never THAT loud. All that and Im rough on my brakes and weigh about 245lbs....ones are cool but I think dual pistons is the only way to go. Maybe running DOT 5.1 would help the fade, that mineral oil is testy....

The first ride down he lost his brakes, This is a very steep trail with no flat spots for your brakes to cool down. Almost everyone has lost their brakes on this trail at one time or another, usually their first time (even my 130lb girlie) His Saints are 180 front, 160 rear. I think bigger rotors will help. And I don't think you can run D.O.T. fluid in Shamano. Bike is at the shop getting bled. I used to have Avid Codes, they worked well, but I think because of the large caliper/large Pad surface area they heat up faster and hold that heat for longer. The trick is to be able to know when your brakes start to fade, then let up off them(which on this trail is the same time that you need them to stop you the most) that allows the brakes to cool down. Each brake has its own characteristic. You should ride this trail and tell me what you think of your Codes after that!

Yeah, that shit is annoying, I agree, f*ck!ng Saint brakes! Did it blow your speakers out listening to the squeal? I told him to get "the ones"Formulas. He lost his rear brake completely, none at all, lever all the way to the bar (not like the Ale Works bar, that would have been better)
