Its crazy, in Colorado we cant get enough water for our jumps to harden and you guys have too much to get them to harden up. Pretty cool to see the sifter too

i dig a lot here and i've never needed a sifter - how does it help?

we've got a dry climate and our 'prized dirt' is a reddish clay which we mix into a muddy pastish complexion and then sweep over. It dries really hard and smooth (think concrete), our only problem is cracking (from heat rather than wet though). What does the sifter do and is it worth my time building one (seeing as how i don't need it now?)

oh ok thanks - i thought it was to make the dirt really fine but i didn't know how that would help

yes it does do that as well, the fine dirt just makes it easier to slip into little creases and nooks. which would give you smoother surfaces
