What ktm is that? I'm looking into getting a 300 xc. If it is watch out, I got a lot of questions to ask. Haha

If I raced dessert I would want a bigger big. Mine tops out at only 75. It's super fast though, fastest bike I've ever ridden. I ride mostly track so I'm not worried about top speed. The low and top end are awesome but the mid slacks a little. I have the race model so it has a bigger carb and some other trick stuff. It's fun but a lot of work to control.

The xc is said to be like a 3 stroke and is easier to control the bike is designed for tight technicle riding. With a 300 2 stroke I would be up against 450's. so I could just change the gearing around. Right now I have a crf250x.

Yea but 2 strokes have no egine break which sucks when your on the trails. If you were only riding tight tec stuff I would go with a Honda crf 150r big wheel. I have one and I've done some engine work and suspension and it is wicked fast and is super easy to through around. I can keep up with the 450s on the track. Of course they would get me on the straights a little bit but changing the gearing could help with that. Depending on what year you are looking at the 4 strokes I think are the way to go. My friend just bought a 2012 crf 250x (4stroke) and I was pretty impressed with that to. We rode trails and track and he could keep up on the track and was pretty fast on the trails. 4 strokes are more maintance and more expensive to work on that's the down side.

why on earth would i downgrade to a 150? ive only owned 4 strokes but i thought a 2 stroke might be good for my long races cuz theyre not as heavy and a bit more maneuverable.

I'm saying if all you rode was super tec stuff. Yea idk 2 stroke 4 stroke they both have pros and cons.
