Not this - man's best friend.
Crash vid captured on a GoPro on a biking trip in Peru. Day of 1 of what was meant to be 8 days of epic riding. Guess who didn't get to ride a second day? Result: 1) full depth avulsion laceration to left arm approx 4cmx4cm - cleaned out ineffectively and later lead to cellulitis with major IV antibiotics required. 2) full 3rd grade left shoulder separation. 3) 2x posterior lateral rib fractures.

Holy $hit Jay, that sounded painful. Separated shoulder....crap, that means no Moose Mountain or Silver Star riding next year. Did you bring your Demo to Peru? Heal up man, you'll be back to riding in 2014. Any damage to the bike or the dog?

The dog was never see again - it likely it belonged to a local rider who was there. The crash happened practically at the parking lot, so the dog probably ran to its owner who put fido into a car without mention. I have come to this conclusion under the assumption that if it was a ferral dog it would have just run off the trail and not down it, and the fact that the dogs was wagging its tail to begin with, running in front of me being chased when its probably used to the scenario being the other way around. I am sure the dog was about as happy as me - I did run straight through the middle of its back and was doing about 40km/hr on a 40lb bike. Or...the dog dragged its sorry ass off into the bush and died, kind like I felt like I was gonna do.
