 Seems like in your stuff that I've read you emphasize the DL over the squat. If I'm correct why is this?

 I think it would be because the movement is a bit more similar. With squat you have the weight on your back and are pushing(basically). With deadlift, you are pulling, by pushing from your heels, and pulling with your back and lats in coordination with the pushing of your legs. If that makes ans sense. It's hard for me to explain...

 Though I totally think the body positioning and small bits of the movement are more similar mountain biking is such a quad dominant sport I just think squatting is important as well. I'm not a powerlifter but am decently strong, and the limiting factor in my conventional DL has always been my back but I have zero problems on the bike with back strength.

 I love the Deadlift. My one rep max is 365lbs, at 146lbs.
