The forestry done this to our trails near inverness and left them signs too! :'( just build them bigger and better :')

mm .. well this nis the risk you take - dont whine about it and dont diss the FC or there would be no forest at all for you to play on in the first place
instead of doing battle .. join forces with them, speak and get permission - remember the forests are also an ongoing business
i love all these trails but the risk is always there, especially if someone complains to the FC when one of you have an accident
not dissing you but be realistic, the FC as a whole support biking and trails, some individuals can be douches many can be co-operative

pretty sure the forest was there before the fc decided to become trail nazis. the wilderness needs to be shared not owned and controlled

As someone who used to build illegal trails (like this), i feel your pain when they get destroyed, but you can't blame the Forestry from protecting their land (as in possible insurance claims from people falling off unmarked trails, plus you may be disturbing animals/habitats ect). 3 years ago our jumps/trails got destroyed and since then we have been working with the FC, have to say it's much better as everything gets built to a certain standard plus we get wood supplied so we don't use rotten stuff.
Main thing is don't fight, work with the FC.

For every one who is saying that you need to work with the forestry, its not simple!!! They dont want mtb's and they are a collection of nobs (in general) and completely un co-operative when any kind of project is put to them and when they are legally build, they will remove it at near any excuse. Bunch of numpties!!!!!

Grizedale, Sherwood pines, dalby forest, cannock chase, haldon, keilder, innerleithen, afan, these are just some the 81 yes 81! FCowned areas that have trails for riding, Of those there are at least 10 that are actually VERY good, world class trail centres, with more popping up all the time. Since the scare a few years back when the government were planning on selling it all, the FC have seized the opportunity to get people into the woods for leisure, Taking a fight to them because they have dismantled an illegal trail is not a clever thing to do, likewise having a pop at them on their FB page is not going to help either.
If you are finding that you are not having success when dealing with them then I suggest you talk to those that have, and find out how they got through and got these centres built. PLEASE do not start a fight with the forestry commission, they owe nothing to us, yet we cannot survive without them on our side!

No!!
These horrible people have been destroying the same place for about 4 years now, and for no valid reason!
We have tried speaking to them and tried to ask nicely but no!

Chazzbiker98 i understand your frustration,, but horrible people dont build trail centres at all,, they'd ban cycling all together and stop cyclists using the woods completely,, try going higher up the ladder,, but fighting them will end up in one result and it wont be one where you get to ride in the woods...

The reason that i posted this is that in delamere, 10 years ago it was in its prime and then it started to go down hill. From this point two bike clubs have tried to make a difference, the first one with limited sucess untill the forestry decided to pull down the trails within a year. The second had no success. Both these official organisations found it difficult. Then i know of a group of around 7 lads from Manchester who decided to get permission of the fc to renovate and make the trails rideable. This was successful until one seasoned rider apparently on a dh bike full leat neck brace ect ect ect fell of and broke his collarbone on the road gap because "he didn't know it was there" so it was pulled down after his formal complaint along with most other features by a 20 tonne digger which was also driven up the 4x "to check it out" which ruined it. Its a combination of the forestry not wanting mtb's, them being trickey at the best of times and spoilt nobs complaining when THEY carnt ride a jump properly and so spoil it for everyone else.

your last sentence joe is pretty much the crux of it,, some muppet hurts themselves on an illegal track,, then sues the FC for it.. If you were the FC, what would you do?
- + 1
thats what i mean, its not just the fc but its everyone else to trying to compensate for there incompetence!!!

I was talking to one of the rangers at cannock chase last weekend, he spends 3 full days, EVERY week just dealing with claims against the fc, and thats just for cannock chase! i was gobsmacked that there really are that many ar+eholes who are prepared to go ride a trail centre, then try and sue them for fake injuries, fortunately no one has won yet,, but the minute they do,, then the FC will shut them all down..
and then where will we ride>?
and then where will we ride>?

But why on earth would somebody fake and injury on their OWN handmade trails to get them down and taken away for money!
That is just low!

These aren't home made trails,, this is cannock chase trail centre. It's still ow in my opinion, If you choose to go riding, you accept that there are risks involved. If you fall off it is morally wrong to try and sue the FC for it.. my 2 cents worth..

@joedean31 is that why a lot of the trails and stuff get waterlogged easily at delamear must admit they aren't maintained and if anything there torn down or the trees around them are removed

Why!! What harm were they doing?
Horrible bastards.
Btw, where the hell are you from? Wierdest accent ever.
Good luck with the rebuild.

no luck, the person who runs the forestry for aberdeenshire has no clue what he has doing at all!
