What I recommend is taping a Canon or Nikon camera to your chest ie. a Rebel. you can also screw it into a baseplate and wear it like a chest mount. I tried that and the footage was freakin INSANE. The only problem is that afterwards my camera went black and it hasn't turned on since. But the footage was great so it was worth it. Way better than GoPro.

Oh damn I didn't even realize that til i read ur post. I'm pretty sketched out on the carbon bars too, and they r so damn expensive just to save 50 grams....
