You have a good future in designing bikes.

i frickin love this design. but its quite complicated for a lesser travel frame(looks like 6" max). would be awsum as big 8/9"er though! would buy this any-day

i would just like to say that for all of you people who are going to critsize this, try doing this yourself and imagine how hard it would be.

i would also just like to say, have a look at my profile and you would see i have tryed similar stuff!Pirate its called constructive critisim from somone who gets what hes doing. iam not trying to start an argument but think before you type! Salute

no i understand that. i wasnt directing it at u but people further down the comments list. i just wrote it as a reply to your comment because that way it would be further up the list and so more people would see it, read it and not dis this guys awesome work

Why have you got the floating brake on there? Surely braking torque is minimal on your design. The floating brake moves more than the rear triangle....

Where the stay bar is it looks like it will snap over time because it is such a little peice and just thought i would throw it out itwo wanna design but cars tho

its like a weird upsidedown dw, not bad but i think the leverage ratio is kinda backwards and its compressing the shock too much in comparison to how far the tire moves. would need a heavy spring and only move 6" or so.
not rediculing, just criticing.

no man you got it all wrong. On my website theres the leverage ratio curve. I do all mine with a ridiculously progressive slope. I assure you its right. www.nobsbikes.com

fair enough.
nice site, hit me up if you get the skis perfected.

nice designSmile an well modelled frameSmile check out also my frame designs made with Catia V5.they are not as precisely modelled than yours. I have criticize the progression curve of the linkage.it would be hell of a job (or impossible) to dial in the shock for that kind of leverage ratio.u need very firm spring to avoid having too much sag.and the leverage ratio drops so dramatically, that shock wouldnt use its whole travel with such firm spring.for example: check out the progression curve of demo 9 from Linkage software..its very progressive linkage, but leverage ratio doesnt drop under 2,6...can u guess whyWink?

oh,damn,,forget that^^ i didnt notice your web site, and the fact that u have really manufactured the frame.huge props for that!how does it work?whats the spring rate, and does it use whole travel?

I have started to realize that the ridiculously steep leverage ratio is not ideal for a balanced front to back suspension but for this model thats not exactly what I was going for. I wanted this thing to be a replacement for my idrive on the trail and street but be way more progressive so that I can hit lots of drops and do trials moves without it bottoming. The high ratio at the beginning does make it very active because i gave it about 35 to 40 % sag but it still will not bottom on any hit. In the future I am going to design in a more of an upside down u ratio like that on the DVP. I still enjoy the bike very much the geometry is spot on to my old stp but with a half inch shorter chainstay. Just a little overactive under un inspired pedaling. No chain input to the pedals though. Its a strange balance but it works.

doesn't work, good idaer and skill making but the design still needs a good bit of redesign, I just dont like there being a anti brake jack bar for one and then there barely any room between the rear wheel and the frame, also the BB is low

flag sirknumskullgt (Dec 6, 2008 at 18:37)
ummmmm......

I cant even begin to tell you how disillusioned and immature you are. The bike is literally sitting in my room right now and Im about to hop on it.

The geo is dialed, its exactly like my stp which is perfect for me and my riding style. The bb is fine. Just because there isnt a lot of room between the seat stay and the wheel doesnt mean the bar doesnt fit. Its tucked in there perfectly and is protected from a great deal of threats.

What do you even mean it doesnt work? You can see it right in front of your eyes. Grow up.

carm the f*ck down lol, personal I would never buy it and personal dont like the design hence why i think it doesn't work, you can put something like this up on a bike site an not exspect to get some flak,

O and only idiots think just because a computerised modle on a computer works that it will work in real life,

I stand by what I say,

yeh what program are you using sirknumskullgt? looks really good to me, how does it ride?? the one thing i noticed which looked quite new really was the way the wheelbase of the bike shortens when the suspension's compressed, its almost like off big hits or drops you can still get the flickability of a 4X bike whilst flowing through the travel.. good work
