Remy Metailler // So Enduro [RAW]
I dragged Remy out of the bike park for a day and into Gargamel on Cougar Mountain; one of the gnarliest trails around Whistler.

I would definitely qualify some of this terrain as DH. Why do these ppl insist on wearing half lids?

dont get it.. A crash with an half lid in this terrain could end horrible.. But it needs to be so enduro.. :/

oh here is an idea, when you climb you take your full face off and put it on when you bomb down. But I guess that wouldn't be #enduro

Thats what pisses me off with this because now nobody can do anything on a mid travel bike without being mocked with #enduro
Combining nice gear just makes the abuse worse, granted things like the enduro sash and the camelbak that goes on your hips are stupid and are definitely #enduro but to say anthing other than 100mm xc bikes or 200mm dh bikes is #enduro is just narrow minded.
I ride my local trails on a 140mm commie meta 55. I have a camelbak with bladder and everthing require to do the most basic repair just because if something goes wrong i have to walk the bike minimum 20km back to my car.
disciplines include XC,trail, AM FR and DH. All it is is the race version of AM while people who know nothing about biking start, buy a 6000 euro bike and all the relevant kit just to go along with the trend and call themselves enduro riders.

Enduro Is crap like that was clearly DH you only need these pro bikes for doing like 20m drop at 100mph
It's not your bike, it's how you use it!

Alright let's say it's less fun. Like I've done prop enduro in crete (Greece) it is fun but all that climbing makes you want to kill yourself

If this was enduro why did he push his bike up the hill? This is clearly DH on a trail bike with trail gear. Great riding for sure but stupid dangerous without the right gear.

it really bothers me also how people can make fun of enduro so much. in my opinion, its the hardest and most grueling type of riding out there. they combined xc and dh together and then made it last almos a week long. A person is gonna be alot more tired than xc or dh riders. i ride dh but looking at enduro i give alot of respect to those guys because they are doing the purest mtb you can possibly do.

He is wearing sun glasses, not goggles. True enduro riders wear goggles. (enter sarcastic laugh HERE)
I also agree that the terrain is more DH like, I would anticipate a course like on the EWS circuit. All props to Remy for making it look easy!

not really sure what is "enduro" about that trail. But I suppose no one wants to watch a video of someone pedaling or pushing a bike uphill. Trail looks wicked and Remy makes it look so easy. I love there is no music...just the sound of rock, tires and a spinning hub!!

Chinaboy there's plenty of pedaling/flat/uphill sections between all these knarly spots; We just chose to leave them out for the sake of better entertainment.

i think you are overreacting, the amount of protection to ride depends of the hability and confidence of the rider.

I like wearing half lids much more than fullfaces. It feels so free! But at some point you have to think of that safety is more important. That would be an example!

What canadaka said- surprised he got away unscathed after taking some of those lines like he did.
Think well I know Id be hanging onto my back brake on most of that!
As for helmet choice, thats just it a choice of which he made.
Some folk value their chin more than others but he surely knows his limits!

Wicked video, awesome riding. Lot of nae sayers up there, what on earth are you talking about? He rode well, he looked like he had fun, it deffo wasn't down hill, stop banging on!

Couldn't agree more, I don't care what helmet he rides in, it's his choice and he certainly knows what he's doing on two wheels, some people need to be more chilled .
