2014 Conkwell Challenge
StravArsehole or StravaSoul?... that's the question... anyways... a colleague at work recently introduced me to Strava - I gave it a test on a local XC loop I do occasionally & know I suck big time at climbing but did see an opportunity to get my name on the leaderboard of a downhill segment that features within this loop... so went back at the weekend & here's my run...

That's pretty much my XC loop - well the loop bit anyways... not the towpath to Lower Weston... have you ridden this?... is this your ride?.. I'm not familiar with viewranger... & do you live in Lower Weston?... if so we're practically neighbours... with only Bath City between us...

no, i'm near brizzle, do a ride up to lansdown/roundwood hill , down into town and back up round the foly/uni

I've not ridden around Lansdown but have played on the downhills off the back of the Uni... & they're quite fun... is that a loop you do regularly?.. or once in a blue moon?...

Do you mean the little kicker just before things straighten up?... if so it looked like it'd been built / rebuilt recently & was incredibly loose with a nasty'ish kick to it - so was easier to avoid... or maybe I was scared of going too big so simply opted for the chicken line!...

haha, yeah I built it up as I'm trying to make everything a bit bigger in Conkwell.. Will leave that as a small one then and will build up a bigger one next to it! Fair on you for missing it, it did have a fair bit of kick to it! Also, I built the little jump at 32s to give you a little kick onto that raised up bit.. Works nicely! You seen the north shore on the newer trail? Nice ridding man, so much faster than me!

Cheers man... appreciate that... & if you are going to build a bigger jump in that spot I would move it back a fair bit and have it really mellow... but well done for building - I'd love to have the time... as for the woodwork... I did see something but don't think it was finished - so haven't ridden as yet... is that your handy work too?...

Yeah, I was thinking of making a new straight-line at the bottom there that is pretty much identical to the one that is already there but have some big (Ish) jumps on it..Cheers, live 9 miles away and ride over at least once a week to repair or build something new..Yeah that was me again and my mate Ollie helped me finish it off..It should be good to ride..
