First taste of the 5spot on local trail.. enjoying the DW and some loose, dusty trails.

You climb like a real man, no fagging with granny and checking pulse, just stand up and mash'em! Rear wheel spinnin' out? A bit more weight to the rear, chest to the bars and pull on'em like in BMXgate - I like it! Sweet bike too, probably the most authentic design ever

Hahaha.. too kind sir! Is the only way I know how to climb, plus flat pedals means more mashing. Also, am out of practice on using front deraillier(cant even spell it).. how do use those again?

Five things changed my climbing in chronological order: 1.cool training program involving lots of squats and deadlifts 2.flat pedals 3.single ring 4. Riding behind a strongest bloke in town 5. Chased by his super strong girlfriend

Last two made me reach a special state of body and mind: max pulse zone - place where pain is not getting worse anymore - plateau of tornment, if you can stay there for 20--30sec you feel invincible hahaha.

Wow.. cool description of what makes one a better climber! Like the last one especially! The single ring is a good idea and I think that will be the first thing I change on the Turner.. maybe a 34

 Happy Breakfast style!
That song was superb, the lyrics were just awesome!

A Tunner 5spot?
You lucky dog!

I really enjoyed the AM ride up into, super fast fun show of DHing!
Truly, a great film!
The dry dusty persona really added to the ambiance of the ride!
Then this trail has some lovely sunshine really exposing the beauty of the trial.

My last video and lots of other, get this weird balance of bright sun showing through the trees with lots of spots of shade, which is hard for the camera to pick up clear image.

The crash at the end was bone shaking as Im still recovering from some rib damage, hahaha
I hope you are all good mate!

RideOn!

Thanks Niko.. yes the 3rd bow to my bike quiver.. another oldie but a goodie! The light levels are great here at this time of year.. clear open skies plus a lot less foliage on the trees add up to nice images.. but in a few months when the rain returns and the skies cloud and the new leaves come I will have the same issues as you are describing.. How about in Kyushyu.. When is the best time to film.. Light level wise?

Welcome to the Turner club bro !!! Mine is the 29er version in the Sultan 2009. They are the best !! Nothing out there beats it on quality, build and DW experience. The '09 Turners were steeper, like you said, but bikes have got too slack and less responsive over the years. I prefer the sprightly steeper angles, and the Turners are perfect !! Only other few I like also is the newer Sultan 29er, Ellsworth Evolve 29er, and the only 26in bike that interests me is the Canfield Jedi. Happy Biking bro....great vid.

Yeah Si! Your Sultan peaked my interest.. super happy with the 5 spot.. you are spot on about the sprightliness. The Jedi looks like a sweet bike

no need to take two bikes out for making a new movie any more, hahah Smile
sweet ride, and what a style you have bro, both going up and down! I can see you enjoy the time in the saddle just like myself.
RideOn 4ever!

Thanks koval. Yes, the One bike.. no more logistical nightmares on a trail ride filming expedition. Climbing is a joy on the 5 spot, enjoying the ups as much as the downs!

It's unbelievable how your vids keep getting better, mate, I wish I could ride uphill like you do. Or downhill for that matter. The crash was a good ending for the video and I hope it was not too bad for you and your Turner!

Thank you for the kind words! Both the 5 spot and myself were unharmed.. Funny about crashes..often high speed ones end better than low speed ones!?

That was a tonne of filming! The Turner looks sweet. Dam you on fire on that bike. I like the dust trails and the styly jumpin. Music worked great with the shreddin.
  • + 1
Cheers Shredder.. the Turner is a beaut! Is always a punt buying old bikes online but turned out to be sweet and built up nicely from some old parts. Loving the DW! 2 camera set ups helps capture tones of footage quickly.

I thought my new/old enduro looked good. The Turner is a beaut! Your setting up two cameras? Dont b shy about posting some pics of your new steed.

Was a good era of bikes 05 - 09, both the enduro and the 5 spot are testimant to that! Slightly higher BB/ slightly steeper HA than current trail bikes, not sure if some of the liveliness has been lost in the slacker, lower, longer precept of modern bikes?
  • + 1
I prefer slack HT angle to twitchy. Honestly your Turner and my Enduro have modern geometry. Perhaps a degree steeper than todays bikes. Oh yeah slack is not popular( again) HT angles are getting steeper(by one degree) . Its all marketing hype for the most part.
There are thousands of bike to choose from. The trick is to choose the one that suits your riding style.
If I find a bike too twitchy I put on a longer fork. If I had too slack a HT angle shorter travel fork.
30mm of travel equals about one degree of HT angle.

True? Interested to hear slightly steeper HA's are coming back.. I guess that's the difference between a trail bike and a racing enduro sled. I was also pleased to find this one came with an angled headset so is a degree slacker than norm as a result.. feels pretty dialed as is. Thanks for the tip on 30mm=about1°.

Charging like always. Inspirational, man. Didn't know you had a turner. New to you?
  • + 1
Thanks brother. Yes, first ride on a new old bike..is a 09'. Haven't had a proper trail bike since my Slayer a couple years ago.. the Turner feels like a rocket compared, best climbing bike I think I've owned.
  • + 1
you may thank the DW link for that. I've had two Ibis bikes and they climb like goats. Good choice man.
