I guess I'm alone in this one, but IMO an Enduro course should be set up with enough bumps and obstacles so that anything under 140-150mm of travel isn't gonna be competitive. Hits that are big enough to actually use all of the suspension on 'true' Enduro bikes, and riding an XC bike will either require you to roll 'em and lose time, or cause serious pain.
When I see a short-travel XC bike win an 'Enduro', to me it was an XC race.
They've already got the 'transfer' stages that technically don't count, but a lot of times are so long and steep, XC riders already have enough of an advantage over riders from other disciplines(DH for example).
If the course is so mellow that a 100-120mm XC bike can tackle it no problem(as seen in this video), then the guys who showed up on 30lbs 160mm 'TRUE* Enduro bikes are gonna not only get killed on the transfer climbs, but also on the course itself.
And if an XC bike is the bike of choice for an 'Enduro' race, then what's the difference between it, and an XC race?

True a real Enduro course would have been the whole enchilada top to bottom...
