He would have travelled further if he'd put supermoto tyres on his bike. They would give him more grip with less rolling resistance.

He spent all that time laying the tarmac to then keep his dirt tyres on... he didnt think it through very well did he.

Well there is no point tarmacing the run up if he's gunna still use motocross tyres. They will have so much friction and rolling resistance.

You can see that they're obviously snaking around on slicks, and the jumps are not huge.

Also, the fact that Capes' engine/transmission is most likely set up so that he hits the ramp at the correct speed, which means that having slicks would only make him to to the target speed faster.

i'm with oscrider on this one, slick tires would be a bbaaadddd idea. at those speeds a little washout (much more likely with slick tires) upon landing could be life threatening.

but ya they would help his run-in speed i guess... but it's not worth the risk.
