Dispelling the Myth
All cultures have their own values regarding appropriate and inappropriate wheel sizes; some sanction 29", while others may disapprove of such activities in part.

idk everytime i pass a 29er on my 26" i get funny looks, just last week some ahole wouldnt move over after his buddys behind him already did so i passed him off trail through brush, most guys on 29ers have no idea what fast is. im not dissing the wheelsize here, just the people who ride that wheelsize.

@whitebullit: I ride 26", I ride EC. I know exactly the type of rider you're talking about. Most of these old EC trails were built around smaller wheel size I think. I see riders on 29" wheels overshoot corners on tight twisty trails all the time. Don't know why you got downvoted so hard.

Pick your favorite wheel size. Be a complete ass about it. And never ever ever ride 29" no matter how many pros can shred the bejeezus out of the trails on em. I find them harder to steer my self. But then again I find it hard to ride like Joe Smith too.

I definitely have to admit 29ers are the fastest, but I have to say that smaller wheels are structurally stronger (allowing for larger jumps and obstacles) and imo just more fun to ride. If you are racing or just riding for the speed and flow, get 29ers, but if you like freeride type stuff with jumps, you can't go wrong with a smaller wheel.

If your a taller rider and want to go really fast and slow down on corning yes 29er.
27.5 is slightly lighter more agile in cornering and you can blast out of turns alot faster. so unless its a bunch of long straight flowy trails 27.5 is best. even if your racing. you make up time and speed in the cornering and blast off.
