The Tuesday Tune 8 - Why We're Riding Telescopic Forks

This week, we discuss how it came to be that we all ended up riding telescopic forks.

@VorsprungSuspension but then you have to, at least in my opinion, exclude all Giant Reign models. They are using a custom 46mm fork offset and therefore the slide out the old fork and but in a new one does not apply - Fox 36 have a 44 rake/offset as far as I am informed.

It is true that some manufacturers including Giant and Trek spec "custom" fork offsets, but as you have pointed out, those vary by a couple of mm. The difference there is not too big, and certainly not so big that you can't put another fork on there and have it handle close enough to the same, since the trail vs displacement characteristic remains constant on either. By comparison, rear wheel axle paths vary by over 50mm horizontally on downhill bikes of the same travel.

@VorsprungSuspension ...other than that - thanks for taking the time to talk me/us through some very intersting and important aspects of suspension
