Posted a while ago by a forum member, not very nice bud mad props for trying the road gap!
He must have gotten sketched out from the barrier and bails because he think hes going to hit it, watch, he bails before andything hits the ground, its not really a "case".
[Reply]
the rider walked away from it with a tweaked ankle he is from lethbridge and his name is matt leitch
tht would be so much better if the camera person didn't f*cking zoom into sum bloody bushes! but the guy has guts!
^^yah, actually i think he was more worried about his friend then he was about videoing him on the ground.

He deffinetly doesnt hit the barrier, or even get close enough to be nervous about hitting it, I think he thought he was gonna case (which he probably would have), so he leaned forward to bail off, which caused him to flip over the handle bars and tumble down the hill.. Overall, that gap is f*cking insane.

THat was crazy, but from wat i see it looks like he sees the bike is to close to the barrier and trys to jump off the bike, well thats what it looks like to me and i watched it a few times and paused it just b4 the bike hits the ground and he's already off to the left side of the bike as it hits the ground. Anyways that was crazy and i hope the bail didnt stop u from going out and sticking it to prove that u can do it lol
Its been a long time since i watched [Drop In] , But if i am not making any mistakes , in drop in ( Dont remember what season ) one of the guys trys a big gap like that one and breaks both is legs (I didint whatch drop in in 2 years , the tv channel i watched it on stoped the series )
yeah, he had like a sprained ankle, i know the guy, thats the biggest road gap in alberta, 80 feet from lip to landing
wait so are you saying that vertically you drop 80 feet?? i wanna see a video of someone landing this that'd be sick
Can you walk is actually not a bad question. Not the thing to try, but it does give an indication if the rider is conscious. The first thing when arriving at the scene of an accident is to determine if the victim is conscious. If he answers you know he is breathing. Then you can call for help and secure the neck with C-spine.
I wonder what injuries he sustained?

the rider is tyler klasen in one of the first drop in series, he did hurt himself (obviously) but still rides now and still rides big. The guy in the video in the stripe top is steve romaniuk

Matt thats amazing it is totally insane. Props to ya on going huge! Not very many people in this world would try that one!!! Nice to know you were able to walk away from something like that.
Can you walk!?!?!?? What a stupid question! I bet the answer was no!
Poor guy! Nice attempt, hope he builds up the courage to try again (and succeed!). Good luck!

man anyone who says his bike hits the barrier needs glasses... like legit. his big was probably about a foot to the left(his left) of the barrier.
[Reply]
OH SHIT lol ouch, he would have hit the barrier, when he bailed his bike hit it, i hope the bike was alright

i think he tryed to bail, bit late tho and his bike hit the barrier, the guy hit the ground. nice try tho man!
sorry but i do not understand one thing, that is this all respect and props fro trying?! What's next?! props for jumping from 10 storey building to flat?! respect bro, u will be always in our memories for this attempt, for staying true to the sport you loved...
Yeah, if you try something rad you break the boundraries of the sport. And that´s how biking becomes even more popular, that´s why he gets props, and you don´t get any props at all.
This is not breaking the boundaries of sport. That is no sport to me. U are a good rider, well known and respected around Gbg but for skills - not suicidal tendencies...
he gets respect and props cause he had the balls to try it. u have all the balls to mouth him off, lets see YOU try it!
U dont seem to get my point... Will U give me props for trying a drop off from a 10 storey building to a 3 meter long, wooden ramp landing?
i wont jumpit as i think its nearly suicidal. Am a gonna jumpA tha insane dropAA, fo am greatAaaaa! ProovE to maselfA an all'yA tha I kno'no fea!
enough laugh: so much people giving props for things like that are, wooo u got the balls man. What would you do there at the place, woo such a big jump, wha, U gonna try it? how many of you would say, man dont do it it's really big, if u hit that road u may f*** die, go big go home, go 6feet under ground perhaps? and then after you prop all these glorious, nearly suicidal attempts and someone dies, u write all these condolences, write into memorial books, sometimes even write letters to parents. Oh,he died doing what he loved, always in our memories, we join his parents in grief...
If he's lucky to survive and breaks his spine, U send all these mails, and start.. no you dont, he's not a pro you dont even know who and where he is... he's there on a chair or in the bed paralized - no, because his friends thought its incorrect to show pictures or videos of that crash.
U see only the vids of guys that made it out of the crash with braking a couple of bones, or somehow making the jump without crashing (its normal, yea, just balls, u need just balls, bender or simmons in NWDs they just got balls). No one knows how many died or ended up paralyzed with doing such a thing. Who cares about the story "behind the blow".

haha someone is angry, get a life, no one gives a shit if u think what he did was stupid, he wanted to do it, so shut up and let him and dont give him shit for it. and what does it matter to u if he gets props..
