its called drop stamping

1 pour moulten lead in to the die
2 let it cool abit
3 drop hammer to pick up lead
4 place material on die (sheet brass)
5 drop hammer to make shape on brass sheet
6 hey presto a nice lookin tray you find in posh eaterys
