That paint tripper s*ck ballz! Don't use that guys, it gonna make a lot of bubbles that u'll be able to take off, but the rest of paint will stay on your frame, and it'll be pretty hard to remove that. Much better way is to use sand paper.
  • + 2
flag DrummingLlife (Dec 12, 2009 at 8:34)
sandpaper rubs the paint into the frame and leaves some paint in the frame

flag Why-Not (Apr 21, 2009 at 20:45)
ive seen many people try to paint their bikes and i lol'd so hard. my fav is when they just grab a can of spray paint and give it hell. no effort to remove parts or tape off anything. It looks so awesome. or like my old roommate. took everything off the bike down to the frame then laid it on its side on some newspaper. spared it till it was dripping off. then flipped the bike over and repeated on the other side. no drying or anything. then he was confused why it looked like crap and had newspaper stuck in it when it finally dried. lmao

good vid for nubs who just don't know. :0

In some cases the primer acts as an rust protector on steel frames, as some colurs are waterbased, three weeks later the frame starts to rust.

where can one find himself some sandblasting sand? thats my only problem. and does it matter what kind of sand you use or is it all the same?

flag c-bernier (Apr 19, 2009 at 10:20)
wouldnt you want to do a little bit of sanding after all the paint is gone to scrath up the surface so paint sticks better (thats what ive always been told)

good way to paint your bike. sandblasting works well too to take off the paint, and its faster. you just need a sandblaster and sand.

Might be an idea to mask up the BB shell and headtube before you paint. Saves a lot of time, peeling off masking tape only takes a second.
  • + 2
flag itstroy08 (Apr 19, 2009 at 10:22)
 why,

if you spraying thinly, the paint in the bb shell and in the headtube, woudnot be an issue?

i think, even if thinkly it wouldnt matter tbh,

im confused lol

an air gun is better to use, then you can layer and mix paint easier, and put the can in the fridge beforehand for a better finish

do you think the same techinque would work for rims? or what would you have to change.

flag cooper-24 (Jun 11, 2009 at 6:48)

flag yaboyz (Jun 11, 2009 at 20:13)
np but u have to spin it on a old bike so u dont get paint on ur nice bike and then spray it or itll be uneven and u should alo use a heat gun after u spray it and use masking tape to tape the spokes
  • + 1
flag ShaunB33 (Jun 11, 2009 at 20:20)
i was thinking of just takin the spokes off so it would go quicker. and hanging the rim up and then spraying it.
  • + 1
flag yaboyz (Jun 11, 2009 at 20:33)
no it wont work as well cuz when u spin the wheel it makes the paint more even and taping it is easier look at my norco 125 in my album i sprayed the rims

one other big thing to do would be to use primer because if you dont the paint might not stick as well to the frame

flag cooper-24 (Mar 25, 2009 at 2:09)
i used primar before but i was to impatient for it so i dont use it no more

flag Eric-Chapman (Mar 25, 2009 at 12:08)
you should use it cause it makes for a much better and longer lasting paintjob

flag Calikidd64 (Jun 16, 2009 at 18:01)
i think its because the layers you painted were too thick and the paint started to run. but whatever it is you can wet sand it and it should help.
