Absolutely. While the shots are fairly good, the thing that makes this video is amazing editing. Top notch.
too much slomo, in my opinion the video is ok, but riding not good enough for VOD and some obvious errors in the editing are noticeable
does the cliche panning to the right or left alot but i wouldnt say its too bad of a video. fav worthy i guess

agree in 100%. It is nice because it makes you feel better 'cause that song is beautiful, but hey! There are many better videos like nothing serious by roodawa bikers (it's only example) etc.
complain much... thats all people do on pb. Im sick of it because no one can agree with a good pod or vod. someone has to bitch about it, no one will ever learn to just suck it up and deal with it!

while the riding isnt anything special and the video is of the same parts of a track over and over, and the video drags on a bit, i think it is VOD worthy because of the editing is amazing, and the song fits so well with the editing
Riding and camera work was pretty mediocre tbh, the music isnt really shred worthy, and the editing was way too predictable imo. its nice, but not really the right technique for a bike film - gets boring tbh. Style of filming/editing/music would much better suit a Romantic Comedy than a mountain biking film, especially dh/freeride imo.
People here have no respect for artistic vision in videos. They just want some classic rock/metal track layed over some DJ stuff. It's obvious a lot of heart and insight was put forth when he made this video, as opposed to a bunch of horribly cropped clips set to some Rise Against. This ranked up there with the last section of F1RST as far as being able to portray some emotion and thought.

Not Vod. Too much of the slow-mo action and image to black flashing which spoiled the action. It's my opinion and I know you'll disagree.

Would probably have looked better if there was more riding in it at full speed. Watching people ride around one corner gets tiresome. Also, looks like that would be much more fun on a hardtail IMO

First of all i would like to thank you all for your comments, and would like to say i did not intend to be VOD...
On word for those of you who find this video boring : you're quite right. This was made with my photographer's eyes (i'm not a real videographer actually) and i wanted to make something more "poetric" (i.e. boring maybe!) than full of actions.
That's my point.
I totally understand you may find this boring, but i've tried to make something different than the classic punk/hip hop/metal MTB videos.
Clay Porter is moving the same way as i am (with waaaay more talent than me). I think MTB movies must meet skateboard movies.

It has a similar feel to that "nowhere to ride" vod. which has got to be one of the best vids I've seen here.
SORRY!!! Those jumps were tiny. AND you were riding full downhill bikes! I could jump those on my hardtail! Video of the day-NOT-rather POSERS of the DAY! I didn't like the music and didn't like the riding. AND I don't think I like the people who liked the video. Cause I am thinking that they were spandex...if you want to improve mountain biking...get RID of the spandex!

first to bradical666, its quite obvious he can ride and just because the jumps arent big doesnt mean they arent good to ride, its flowy its meant to be smooth not big and tricky.

i agree with incorporating aspects of skate films, i understand what you guys were going for, something from aphex twin or plaid, maybe even radiohead, i think would work pretty well, they all have a ton of music and it varies greatly.
oh yeah, and make sure you incorporate bike/trail sound fx, i dont know, maybe thats a little more difficult to do, i dont know how complicated it is, but that is def key.

ya, bad song choice, it made me think like there was going to be a tribute to someone that came up at the end
the riding wasnt too hot and all of the black flashed made the vid hard to watch. i nap seem nice right about now.
It wasnt all about going huge and getting crazy it was about the funt stuff of riding when getting hurt it as a minimal low...I sit here in a cast relaizing that sinlgetrack is really where I have the most fun riding , just being real flowy and getting into the riding. Just me though..sick vid guys good editing and timing well deseved VOD
cool video but the im kind of tired with what seems like a lot of VODs with all this vignetting going on. the flashes got kind of annoying too but overall cool video the riding looked fun just maybe a little repetitive to watch

I see the points of people not liking it and not wanting to see it as VOD. BUT I havn't seen an edit like this yet in the sport. So it interested me and the trails looked uber fun.
Its a great vid and you are all a bunch of douchenozzles for over analyzing it. Just enjoy it. B*tches.
Same jumps shot 6 or 7 times... fait enough if you on a HT doing some DJ but got repetative. Good riding, nice film but not VOD imho
