BMXers don't wear helmets. Like Wolverine, they were all taken to a top secret military base in Alaska to have their entire skeletal frame bonded with Adamantium. Comes in handy when they screw up.

MTBers weren't on the list, unfortunately, so we'll have to make do with body armour.
