What is with the cow bells and air horns? Ive heard it suppose to be some type of good luck thing? Or is it just meant to be annoying and distract the riders? Any one know the tradition behind it?

Btw - good vod - i'd love to try that course Smile

Its just a way to cheer for the racers that they can actually hear while maching down the hill. It started with skiing, and has now moved to mountain biking. I could be wrong though.

I don't know the song title but if you really want to find out you can probably play the video again, listen to the lyrics, and type them in on google and chances are it will pop up

why do people use cow bells and air horns and stuff? surely they just distract the riders?
  • + 8
well why they are screaming??? this is not glof or tennis tournament..... they are just cheering for the riders and making good atmosphere! I cant see that those cow bells or air horns are distracting the riders. But that is just my opinion
  • - 1
i dunno, i associate air horns with riots raves and lorries, i dont see what one gains from blasting someone with a horn etc. cheering is different cos you can be inspiring and make you feel proud etc. see my point? idk maybe i'm weird.

Air Horns and Cow bells are a form of gesture that say "HEY, what have you got? COMMON AND SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT". They're for sport and fun.

This is on the front page everyone will see it anyway. Please stop getting lazy with VOD choice pinkbike.

Some people only check out POD/VOD, some people only read the news. This was the vod choice, but also added it to homepage for those that don't check the VOD daily.
