nice to see quality of vods are rising this an extremely awesome edit, film and riding severe probs to whoever put this beauty together
that was a really cool VOD. i liked the way it cut from you on a dh bikes shredding some trails to you on a rigid bike doing some street. good editing to.
this is exsactly what VODs are ment to be!... new music, mix of riding, awesome editing, and men on little kids toys in the park

To be honest, it wasn't that good. And fyi, drifting in DH is accidental, so the drifts you did were for show only.. which was a big downer for me. The video itself was not very exciting; try to put a bit more variety. The slo-mo with the song matched though!

Drifting is when you lose tire traction because you are going too fast and the amount of traction the tires get is reduced because you are tilting the bike closer to the ground.
Ask anyone in the downhill scene, they rather stay glued onto the track to not risk falling off and losing control rather than drifting the whole course. We have berms for sharp/fast/angled corners, the flat corners are to challenge the rider.

What is so bad about the drifs being done "for show"? It looked sick, and looked better than if the guy had just turned those corner with no style.
No, I love drifts, but I'm saying that if you are downhill-ing, at least go fast.
Watch 64, and you will understand why I was disappointed. Any downhiller would have pedaled hard after losing all that speed, so it just didn't feel right for me.

Very high production value. Nicely done. Digging the slo mo. Don't hate on drifts because you can't take a corner fast...
Just because the vids great quality and good editing doesn't mean the riding is good enough for vod...

gotta agree with you on the bit about dher's wanting to stay glued to the ground in corners, but sometimgs when going fast into corners (especially flat corners) you need to drop the foot and slide the corner not by accident. i agree that it didnt feel like a dh segment tho, no knee pads and it seemed slow mo'd to make it look faster than it really is.

I'm not trying to take any cred aay from you guys or your idea, I just think it was a sweet video and I'm happy that it made VOD
To the people whinging and complaining about Riding quality and the likes I'll provide some sort of explanation.
Seeing as it was a competition video there was a timeframe and deadline to produce/ edit and deliver the video. As myself and Callan (the street rider) are going through our last few terms of schooling, we're pre-occupied with Study/ Assessments and everything else that sucks the social life out of you. If we had the ability to reshoot and produce nicer riding and better locations we would have but it's not exactly the easiest thing being under strict deadlines.
I'm working on other works but my priority is to finish school with the highest possible mark.
If you want to whinge, go talk to a plant - It'll love it. Otherwise suck on the exhaust pipe of car.

youre upset this of vod ! to me for a film to become vod it needs to have at least one aspect to have a wow factor in this video its the production and quality ....... i am glad this is vod mainly due to it making me want to ride and...gluey-trails super song choice and amazing enviromental aspects it just reminds me of the perfect days biking
I agree, it's not what they are doing, but the effect that the video has on you, no matter how it is acheived.

that drift on the leaves did it for me. awesome vid with great editing. no wonder ya won the comp. the prize was pretty good too isnt it? like a pair of forks and a heap of other stuff

that wasn't amazing at all kinda boring to short there are way better videos out there and the song sucks.
Do you suggest I call up Sam Hill for the next shoot? Maybe Rennie? Cause ya know, there is just such a plethora of great riders in the area.
TobinLM, what's with the hate. It was good vid, good riding, good videography and good editing. Maybe you should take some Ritalin, and work that attention span of yours. Not everything needs to GO GO GO all time.

i cant say im to pleased with this vid. i do agree that they put some hard work into editing this video but the riding really just was'nt up to par with past vod's and the song did'nt fit the video at all. i feel that a vod is a video that truly has the most amazing riders with great editing. you cant just subtract one and make up for it in the other. but good video guys keep it up

Aww man, another video ive seen recently using the same song idea ive had, oh well, at least i chose to use this song in my PSA rather than a biking vid
