when he went rigth in front of the car makes me think of every day going to school even thouigh i think it was planned

you "think" it was planned? That black truck shows up several more times in the vid. it's his friend. He's not even close to getting hit.
Even if it wasn't him, HE CUT THE GUY OFF. Douchebaggery riding that would give bikers a bad name - if it wasn't some contrived BS.

Weird set of people watching this vid. 4 thumbs down for saying that if he had actually cut a car off that would make him a douchebag?
Think about it. Do you really think that cutting off other vehicles is good etiquette on the roads? How about on the trails? If you were driving that truck, would you have come to a 'full stop' at that stop sign?
Now the fact that it's OBVIOUSLY set up (the truck shows up later in the vid) just means that he's pretending to piss someone off to get 'rebel points' or some such BS.
Sorry, but being an a$$hole towards other people on the roads doesn't exactly score a lot of points with me. _Pretending_ to be an a$$hole to make yourself look 'cool' scores even less.
It's not all that different than a guy just standing next to his bike, repeating the word 'Fusk' over and over to the camera for the first 10 seconds of his video. Yeah. A real badass.

I think whats really funny is that you all give a shit and seriously debate over whether that was set up or not! special needs points
I am not debating whether it was set up or not.
It was set up. It's obvious. That's his friends truck. It shows up later in the video.
Why is this confusing to you?
What I was saying is that it's a shot of him PRETENDING to ride like a douchebag.
I don't understand how people might think that makes this guy look like a badass.
That kind of riding on the trail would get his ass kicked. So how does it become cool simply because he's cutting off a guy in a truck?
Now, because we all know that it's totally contrived (that means "SET UP"), how does it become cool now because he's just pretending?
wtf?

im not saying that i do it on purpose i just think about it everytime i do go to school and i know it was planned

the number of times cars beep me like that lol
cars dont realise bikers know what there doing nd they think were all pussy cyclists on hybrid bikes who go down hills with the brakes fully on and stuff
sick video, i really wanna find some flowy trails like that

I ride a motorcycle in a country where virtually everyone rides scooters. The expression goes: Metal around meat or meat around metal?
The bottom line is that if cutting people off on the road is a significant part of your riding, it doesn't matter if you are a pussy cyclist or a badass berm-rippin, can-can kickin', trail-screamin' huckster, that truck's wheels are still going to chew you the Fug up.
Guess who will end up paying the bill?
Seriously, if cars beep at you like that all the time, you might want to learn how to shoulder check/look where you are going so you don't end up taking a body-check from an F-250. I guarantee you that the truck will be less damaged than you. or your bike.
Don't get me wrong, I've been beeped plenty of times by pricks while I was doing nothing at all wrong and I've been run off roads and deliberately 'faked' by dumbass drivers, but that's not exactly what is being shown in this vid.

I had giant glory before, it was really fast, but is has on disadvantage for me, the weight. to much weight, neds a lot os strength
oh shut up glorys are sick as bikes! with the right spec and setup they are just like any other race bike except 500000000 dongs cheaper.
Anyone else have trouble figuring out this vid?
I mean 80% of the tricks involve him skidding around corners, popping 4 inches of air and 1 second long wheelies.
Oh and then there's that section of him walking his bike up a small hill with a perfectly flat hardpack, then cycling straight down. Oh and don't forget skidding at the end to throw some dust up in the air.
Uhhh.. huh?
I mean he obviously has some skills, but what's with this video?
That's great he's at Whistler and all that, but what's with the frickin' bunny hill bs?

Like I said, there are a few spots where the guy does get a bit of decent air, but like 80% of this vid is like mild XC trails.
I mean sure, he does it at a fairly high speed, but it's not like it's all that technical. I probably wouldn't even bother switching the road tire off my back wheel for most of what I see in the vid.
Maybe there's something about what he says about how he's trying out for the World Cup or something that somehow adds something to this vid that I'm not seeing with my eyes... ?
I'm just sayin'...

Here's a real Whistler vid:

Yeah, there are some '4 inch air' moments in there too, but generally speaking, it has a serious portion of serious riding.
I can believe quite easily that the rider in this vid is capable of some good riding, I just think that the shots they chose are overwhelmingly lame, so when a good bit of riding does show up, it's drowned in a sea of extreme tameness.
Obviously the budget is way higher for the other vid, with heli cam shots, but the majority is shot on the ground - and those shots are good.

What you don't seem to understand is that the only way he can get going that fast is because they are NOT "bunny hills". Remember that a video will never do a slope justice unless it's being filmed from the side, and that usually leaves you with a 1/2 second long clip of a blur going by when guys ride as fast as this guy. Go to Whistler, PEDAL (with a big ring), not brake, down the open roads on the runs, making the corners look as easy as this guy did, and then you can talk.
My point is more about the fact that the video seems to spend an awful lot of time on fairly uninsteresting riding.
I am not decrying his skills. It is clear that he rides with skill and grace. But that's only clear in a very few, very short segments of the vid.
I am pointing out that the guy who set up the video chose lame footage and set up lame shots.
I am not suggesting for a moment that every single minute of riding must be catching 15 feet of air or anything like that.
But if 80% of the content of a video of a world class DH rider involve little more than 'riding fast' down a hill on flat, non-technical terrain, yeah, I'm going pipe up and call it.
Yeah, it requires some manner of skill and experience to pin those berms. I wouldn't call it a really rare level of skill though. I know loads of guys who just ride for fun that can do all of the same flatland stuff at basically the same speed.

I had that glory 08 and I crack it jajajajaja but I still thinking that its one of the best dh bikes that I try now I have the 09 . when your riding it you dont feel the weight it have a really good balance.
nice video , good riding VOD

Sweet video.
Uncomprehendably sick riding, Cody is a bloody fast guy. Tearing apart those berms, I always wondered what happened to ours when the nationals were on down here. You better come back to rebuild them.. haha.
But the song... meh, it's okay. I guess it suited the riding, but there could have been some WAY better songs for the video..
Anyway, nice vid.

Awsome vid!!! At last a decent song playing in the background, not some lame ass hip hop bull shit as in 90 per cent of the VODs... /,,/
"eschelar"..... i dont know who u are champ but the car was set up, just for the record.
Get a fresh pack of tear-offs, fix your heart valve and come try stick on my wheels mate, Then il listen to your verbal garbage... oh and i raced world cups and raced world champs so the 'trying' part was covered.
hey u 'tried' here i guess.... unluckkkkyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
"lukedh" sumed u up.
and thanks to everyone for the comments

I don't even understand what you are saying. Try to be coherent.
When did I ever suggest that the 'car' scene was not set up? Do you understand the meaning of the word 'if'?
Watch the vid with your eyes open. While you are at it, try reading with your eyes open too bub.
my skill vs your skill has absolutely nothing to do with this video.

Oh and just to let "eschelar" know thats not skidding he does around corners to do that hes probally not useing his brakes just snaping his bike around, and often it faster to do that on certant corners, now go ride your super steep downhill trails in Victoria that you don't have
