Yea... This is a funny vid but these fixie guys arent riding fixed gear for performance... Fixed gear is the simplest, least complicated, most maintainance free way to ride... You dont have to worry about your derailleur attacking your spokes or shifter and brake cables stretching... Dont get me wrong, I have nothing against you roadies, I'm just saying, roadies ARE about performance... Fixies are about simplicity and low maintainance

Fixies are pointless and way too trendy. If you want a bike that is simple and you don't want a broken mech you don't need a fixed gear. Why not just run a single speed, that way you don't have to look like your'e in a hovis advert.

To gutkrencher: a singlespeed has a freehub that can go wrong. Futhermore a SS does need brakes, so pads and also replacement cables are needed. A fixed gear is so much more simplistic, a blast to ride and not to mention how much leg strength you build when training with one, because you don't have any chance to rest even when braking. Besides fixed gears and singlespeed look so much alike that you will end up looking like you are taking part in a bread advert of sorts

I was talking about how this guy talks down on fixie riders... Its just another style of riding like flatland BMX or trails or street or street MTB or DH or AM, etc... its all just different ways to do the same thing-ride a bike. Fixed gear bikes AREN'T all track bikes... they AREN'T ALL built for the Velodrome. They're a simple maintainance free way of getting from point A to point B. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that
