 It's a parody of a particular type of people. To be honest, I think they have a certain amount of control over their situation and could change it. Why buy a tracksuit when you can buy jeans/trousers?, why buy the latest Nike AirMax when you could get something cheaper (and just as good) and use the money for something else. I've dealt with many of these types of people throughout my life, in England, Scotland and Wales so have a pretty good insight.
