after a year of happy shredding, my son has outgrown his transition ripcord, so its for sale

most of what you'd need to know about the bike, and additional pictures, can be found on the review we did of it: http://nsmb.com/reviewed-transition-ripcord/

its received a few notable ugrades from stock, including:

- carbon 680mm wide riser bars. you can have the original one too, which is a bit wider
- a fox float (f100) suspension fork, custom tuned for a lighter rider. you can have the original one too, which is quite a bit heavier both far less supple and supportive
- a 30t raceface n/w ring. cut a bunch of weight and improved climbing quite a bit, esp. in combination with the shorter cranks (see below). you can have the original one too, i think its a 32, and the chain guard
- a lightweight wheelset: circus monkey hubs laced to alex ace20 rims. you can have the original wheelset too, which is heavier, though the rims are wider. we've been running the original front wheel and tire with the lightweight rear and a rocket ron tire (which you can have as well)
- 150mm spectra crankset. lighter and shorter than the originals, which were the only mis-spec'd part on the bike in my opinion
- chromag QR seat collar (super easy for little hands to open and close) and a longer seatpost to provide more room to grow. you can have the original seatpost too, which is shorter and provides more standover for a smaller rider

the bike has seen a year of regular use, but is in great shape. the paint has some scuffs but the frame is mechanically and cosmetically sound. the brakes pads are used but still have some life in them. the drive train has a new chain, and is running great

after reviewing the bike stock for a few months, there was no way we could give it back, so i bought it. the changes we made to it dropped a considerable amount of weight and made it both climb and descend better. this is the ultimate kid's bike, in my opinion: not cheap, but for a fair chunk less than a new one you're getting a heavily upgraded version that rides much better and is still in excellent condition; i have had a year of fun riding trails with my son, and not a second of buyer's remorse

please note: this listing is for the bike and all the parts listed. i'm not parting it out or selling the frame. and if you buy it, you'd better have an eager kid ready to rip it - if i find out that you just jacked up the price and put it back up for sale i'm going to track you down and say mean, hurtful things
