My beloved Trek has got to go! . I’ve built the frame back up recently but I’m just not using it, so I want to get it out of the spare room! The bike has been stored inside for nearly all of its life.

The bike has a host of upgrades from new spec, which I’ve listed below:

Frame: 2013 Trek Cobia, 21” (XL), suitable for about 6’ and up.

Fork: Rockshox Recon Silver Solo Air, serviced around 150 miles ago and will throw in a fresh set of seals.

Wheels: Bontrager AT-850s, both running sweet and true, rear was trued a few months ago as it had developed a wobble, front’s never shown any sign of going wobbly. I routinely repack the hub bearings and the freehub was replaced around two years ago when the old one went kaput. Tyres are Continental Mountain King II running with inner tubes, but the rims have run a tubeless setup in the past without much hassle.

Drivetrain: (3x10) SRAM X7 rear derailleur (upgrade from the X5 spec), SRAM crankset, Shimano Deore cassette, SRAM chain. Deore front derailleur. SRAM X7 shifters (again an upgrade from the X5 spec). All of this has been freshly installed with new Jagwire cable and housing. The hanger was replaced when I replaced the old rear derailleur, so it's perfectly aligned.

Brakes: Avid Elixir 3s, upgraded from the stock Elixir 1s. Pads have plenty of life left, both levers nice and hard, no air in there.

Pedals are basic and have only really been fitted for test rides.

Misc. upgrades:
Hope headset has been installed at a cost of over £100, this was done around two years ago. The bike has seen very little mileage since then so it’s barely worn in and smooth as silk.

Seatpost and seatclamp upgraded to Superstar units, as the Bontrager stock items were getting worn out. The saddle hasn’t seen much use either, as I removed it for my personal preference after six months or so.

Stem replaced with an 80mm Bontrager unit to improve downhill handling over the 100mm stock stem. I can throw in the original too.
Grips replaced with Superstar lock-ons.
LizardSkins chainstay protector installed.

The bike hasn’t been ridden in anger since being built so it has scrubbed up beautifully. There is some rubbing on the top tube from a Thule hatch mounted rack. I’ve attempted to show the worst of this in the photos. There are some areas of minor cable rub too, which could be polished out with a bit of elbow grease. No dents or dings anywhere.

All in all I’m very sorry to see this bike go! It’s been reliable and capable and the perfect introduction to trail riding, but I can’t justify the space it’s taking up.

The bike was over £1,000 new, and with the host of upgrades it’s now better than it ever was! I’m asking £350 OVNO, partially because I do need it gone this month. Collection from M5 J22, or I can meet anywhere between there and Bristol. Please no silly offers, and no PX unfortunately.
