For sale is a 2007 Bianchi C2C 928 Carbon endurance road bike in a size 58cm. This bike features a Shimano 105 2x10 drivetrain and brakes, Mavic Aksium Race wheels, internal cable routing, and carbon fiber fork, seatpost, & carbon-wrapped stem. The 58cm size fits riders roughly 5'10" to 6'2".
The "C2C 928" model was the precursor to the current "Infinito" model in Bianchi's lineup; it's not a race bike but is instead intended for enthusiast riders that want more comfort and stability than a race bike would provide (similar in concept to the Specialized Roubaix or Trek Domane, for example).
Description from Bianchi:
"Rider comfort is enhanced by a slightly taller and more relaxed head tube paired with slightly longer chain stays. Steady cornering, quick acceleration, and stable descending - hallmarks of Bianchi racing geometry - are not compromised to achieve a smoother ride."
The bike is essentially stock except for the following:
-- upgraded/newer brake/shifter levers (newer style, with all the cables hidden under the handlebar tape)
-- a wider range casette (11t-28t)
-- a slightly wider front tire (25mm vs. the 23mm in the rear)
-- new handlebar tape
The bike is in excellent (near-new) shape; the ONLY signs of wear are:
-- minor scuffs on the rear derailleur & the saddle
-- some cable rub on the fork (I've since applied protective tape to prevent this)
-- wear marks on the inside of the large chainring and some small scratches on the crankarms
Everything works well; the drivetrain shifts smoothly, the brakes are solid, and all bearings (headset, bottom bracket, hubs) are good, quiet, and spin freely. The bike was lightly used for only a handful of rides each year; it's been very well maintained, frequently cleaned/greased/lubed, and has no issues. I've tried to show in the photos that there's ample clearance for wider tires if you wanted to add them; the front currently has a 25mm tire installed and there's still plenty of room around the caliper brake and fork, with similar clearance inside the seatstays for a wider rear tire.
The bike does not come with pedals; I can give you some cheapo platform pedals for free if you need 'em, or I can include some entry-level Look KEO clipless pedals (without cleats) for another $20.
From BikeRadar's review:
"Bianchi's carbon monocoque frame is supremely comfortable, dissipating road vibration almost completely to produce a butter-smooth ride. The longer your ride, the better the Bianchi is. Many efficient bikes can leave you battered and torn after a couple of hours in the saddle but we stayed feeling fresh and ready for more on the 928 for much longer than usual - to the point that we were starting to wonder if we just weren't trying hard enough."
