Get your hands on this frame, and build up your ideal trail ripper! 115 or 130mm travel options without affecting geo - Which is a 67 degree head angle with a 130mm fork - perfect for trail riding. Or toss a 140-150mm fork on there and really get after it! I'll leave the 'it' up to you.
Honestly, this thing could have been designed by the PB comments section:
- Aluminum - check! (carbon bad - oceans, whales, landfill, etc.)
- Real headbadge - check! (something about craftsmanship)
- External cable routing - check! (no time for rattly internal cables and disconnecting your brake hose)
- 12x142 mm rear - check! (boost? boost just makes me buy new stuff, its all a conspiracy)
- Long reach - check! (445mm reach - how dare you expect me to use a 60mm stem?)
- Threaded BSA BB - check! (damn creaky press-fit bbs, not something you'll have to worry about)
- bottle cage mount in front triangle - check! (what's a Camelbak?)
- 75.5 degree seat angle - check! (I must be over top of the pedals to climb effectively)
In all seriousness this frame does have nearly all the best features, not to mention the colour is beautiful - can actually seem anywhere from orange to red depending on lighting. I rode it for 2 seasons (2016 and 2017), but not as my only bike so I would peg it at about 20 rides or so. No dents, no scratches, obviously no cracks. Could almost pass for new except for the dirt. You better believe this is a collector's item: one of the very last Intense frames handmade and welded in 'Murica. It's a piece of history! I would keep it for myself but the 29er trend is calling and I'm not strong enough to resist.
Will come as pictured - including rear axle, seat clamp (34.9), 160mm post mount rear adapter, and headset (Cane Creek upper, Hope lower). Shock is not included. Req'd shock: 7.875x2.00 or (200x51mm). Will accept piggy back shocks but I don't believe that would include DHX2 or Vivid Air (can is too big). I've run both a Cane Creek DB Air inline and a DVO Topaz. Hardware req'd is 22x6mm and 30x6mm. Seatpost size is 31.6mm.
