Decided not to collect classic bikes anymore, so selling this one and others.
This is a 1984 Ritchey Ascent Comp. Even though it has been painted in the Commando scheme, it is not a Commando. The serial number confirms this is an Ascent Comp and that it was built by Tom Ritchey. The main triangle welds and the stays/brakes fillet brazing are beautiful, and she rides strong.
This is an 18" frame, built with complete Shimano M700 'Deerhead' gruppo, Ritchey Bullmoose bars, M700 Hubs on Saturne rims, Specialized Cranks (original to the Deer Head groupset). The bike is in very good to excellent condition. It would take very little to make this a show bike.
