Shimano places a lot of thought into their disc brakes. The Shimano RT99 Ice-Tech FREEZA CL Disc Rotor provides consistent braking performance through effective energy management. By using a revolutionary 3-layer sandwich construction of stainless steel and alloy construction that manages heat while riding. The clad steel/alloy/steel rotor construction allows heat generated from braking to radiate quickly through the aluminium core achieving surface temperature drops of around 50°C. When used with Ice-Tech pads surface temperatures can drop from around 400 to 300°C, this Shimano disc rotor provides great improvements in braking performance.
