For sale is my beloved medium Santa Cruz Hightower frame. It is the "C" carbon so it is bombproof and stiff!
This frame does NOT include a shock which allows you to "pick your poison" as there are SO MANY great options out there, especially over the stock Monarch. I had this bike with a Push Eleven Six and it made the 5" travel bike feel like this bike had an extra inch of travel!!! The suspension platform on this Hightower (non LT) is ideal for coil shock or large volume air shock. Be bold ... go coil. The VPP platform of this bike allows you to run a shock fully "open" so it is very efficient without needing a "climb switch" or "lockout."
The Hightower frame can be build up as a 29er or 27.5+. The rear end can take a 29x2.4-2.5" rear tire depending on tire brand and internal rim dimensions (as you can see the inside of the rear triangle is scratched up by rocks getting stuck in my 29x2.5 w/ 30mm internal rim) . As a plus set up it can take a 27.5+ 2.8" with a 40mm internal rim width.
The frame has 135mm of rear travel and was designed for a 140mm with a 29er front wheel or a 150mm with a 27.5+ front wheel. However, I ran this bike with a 150mm travel 29er fork which was "OK'ed" by Santa Cruz.
The bearings have just been serviced before selling. This bike has always been fully serviced in the winter and had bearings replaced when needed.
The bike, as the photos show, has been ridden. Most of the scratches are from unfortunate rock strikes or the bike falling over after being set against a tree trying to score a sick 'gram! There is a fine shallow scratch on the non-drive side head tube/top tube that was there since new. This all being said the bike is very clean and easy to inspect. These frames have lifetime warranty (not transferable) agains manufacturer defect. If there was going to be a defect it would have shown up by now.
BONUS - Limited Edition STEALTH ALL BLACK Santa Cruz headbadge. I also left on the black Santa Cruz down tube decals. They can be removed to reveal the original red siracha colorway.
No headset, no bb, no seat post, no shock ... just the frame. Choose your own adventure!
