Hello,
For sale is a foldable electric scooter with a new modern and elegant design. MAD, the new VELOCIFERO, is an example of how a bright idea turns into a successful product. Ergonomic shapes and fat wheels will be part of each path. Designed by Alessandro Tartarini, one of the top 100 industrial designer in the world. An exceptional cross between a mini-scooter and an electric bike, with very original styling: the bamboo footrest echoes the latest generation of skateboards, the fat tires give it a sports look, the accessory kit and the digital camo make it a product with a strong personality.

This top of the line model features a 1600 watt 48 volt 12A Battery with generous torque and enviable performance, attributes that give it the power to tackle all types of terrain. Dual headlights, pouch w/ tools, extra fuse, small parts, as well as carrying bags are included.

So there's the "gist" of it, but here is what you're getting....

The GOOD: I got this thing and it scooted, no pun intended. It was a bit scary on the sidewalk, but once you get it on side streets, open parks/fields, or even ebike friendly trails and dirt or gravel roads, this thing is an absolute blast. The horn is kinda funny as it's more of a small "toot" sound rather than a deeper train horn kind of sound. The lights worked really good, but if you're not in a city setting with street lights around, then a headlamp for additional light makes it way easier to see in the pitch dark. The foldable handlebar/"stem" and removable seat/post made stashing it under a bench or bed so much easier, but this thing is no feather, as it's hefty. moving it around can be a real workout. For being No Name suspension, it worked really well for what it's designed for, and unless you're trying to take it down a set of stairs or dropping a 5 ft loading dock, this thing rides like a cloud and smooth as warm butter. The brakes, for being mechanical, had great stopping power for my self, I am 260 lbs geared up, and it stopped on a dime every time.
the BAD: So I bought this off a buddy who bought it brand new from a scooter store in Denver with the intention of riding the 1.3 mile bike path he had stretching from his neighborhood to his office. He is 6'-4, so this thing was TINY for him. He rode it less than a month and decided to get a large ebike with pedal assist. Great for me as I picked it up and was ready to rip, but my friend let the batteries sit unused for about a month or so before selling it to me, and after I did some research ( a TON or forums, battery sites, scooter reviews and more!) I found that this type of e-scooter and battery system does not have a cycle storage built into the batteries, meaning unless you unplug the batteries from the electronics, and the horn (separate connection), then the batteries are slowly being drained, even if the scooter is turned off. So after talking with 2 scooter maintenance shops and a battery store, I found that the best way to get the most life out of this type of battery system, is to charge it from 6-10 hours once your battery level is ALMOST dead. If you let the batteries drain down to nothing, there are chances of totally killing the batteries cells and they won't hold a charge again. This is basically what happened to the batteries that came in this. I knew the scooter worked, as I plugged in the charger, the light on the charger box lit up blue (this means the charger is fully functional, but if it shows yellow or red, the charger has a faulty charge and wont send any power to the batteries cells. So, I bought a new set of batteries, with a 2 year warranty for a little over $200. Used it constantly for about a month charging it every night I used it (but DO NOT let it charge over night, as I found in research that doing so, weakens the cells that hold the charge and eventually the batteries will start hold less and less power), and unplugged the batteries from the scooter when not charging and I didn't use it, so as to keep what charge I did have in them....

Then life happened, we (my family) had our second child, Covid, jobs changed, we moved, and by the time I got back to it for a leisure ride, I had let it sit too long without a charge and the batteries were no more. Luckily I had the warranty, so I returned the batteries for a refund, but with 2 kiddos now, I just don't have time for this thing AT ALL. I am sharing my full experience as well as the sites for the info of the scooter, as well as the site I got the new batteries from. Check out youtube videos on these scooters too, one of the best in it's class, meaning for a small throttle powered full suspension scooter, there really isn't one that can beat it.

I have seen multiple styles of scooters that don't have suspension or built in lights go for $600-800, and even saw 2 of these bad boys (one on ebay, and one on craigslist) go for $750-900 used. This thing is in excellent shape, and If it wasn't for the batteries, I would sell it for $750 no questions asked. I have adjusted the price to where you can buy a set of batteries and this scooter, and you'll still save over $200 off the MSRP. I'm not too flexible on price, as I've done so much research on these I know what I have and what it's worth, but I am willing to work with someone who is going to get the most use out of it they can, and give it a good home.

Thanks for checking out the add, and HAPPY TRAILS!
