I am selling this bike for a friend. He is a busy guy though so email me if interested and I will help facilitate.
He is the original owner and least they know him by name at the shop.
For viewing generally Thurs-Fri early evenings or Sat Sun most times can be arranged.
2005 Devinci Johnson MEDIUM frame Approximate weight 40pounds (hey, 888's aren't light)
Bike was bought new in late 05
888 Fork (04 version, new on bike in 05)
Hayes nine with BFL Levers
Daredevil bar, stem, hubs, seatpost
Double track CAMO wheelset - the wheelset were just handbuilt at the end of last season and have been ridden 5 times since - super dope super tough.
Manitou 4-way Swinger with Custom tuning. As we all know Manitous can feel 'dead', but this one had a custom tuning to by-pass the SPV valve and really makes it more plush and more active - 8 rides on it since it was tuned.
Michelin 2.8 front, Maxxis Minion 2.5 rear.
A little about Devincis and this one. Look at the pic with the little "dinky" looking thing. That is a grease port. These are HANDMADE frames that use NEEDLE Bearings. They are not crappy throw the bike out every season frames with easy to wear out and ovalize bearings. This one was ridden fairly often, but maintained very well. All the needle bearings were in fact replaced near the end of last season, and the owner I believe still has half the replacement parts to do that again and would be happy to put them in in the fall after you've ridden the bike over the season (don't ask him to do anything in summer though as he'll be out riding his NEW devinci - he loves 'em - all the time).
Thanks for reading the long email. Any q's fire away.
p.s. I think he is going to throw in a tune up if the price is near asking too - don't quote me on that, but i am pretty sure.
