1993 Trek 5200 OCLV - Refurbished

This is a near mint, completely refurbished Trek 5200 road bike. The frame is Trek’s signature OCLV composite, in excellent condition, with a threadless Icon fork. This frameset was produced in 1993, which was the second year Trek offered complete OCLV frames. Trek calls it a 54, which means 51 cm seat tube and 54 cm top tube.

The bike was stripped, thoroughly cleaned and lubed, and rebuilt with a complete 8 speed Shimano Dura Ace 7410, with all new parts straight out of the box.

Peripherals include a very lightweight Dura Ace 7410 seatpost made by Easton; a rare Selle Italia Novus seat designed by no other than Ferrari Engineering; ITM Millenium bar and stem, and Mavic Helium tubular wheels – the rear wheel has just been rebuilt on a brand new Bitex hub. Tires are “new old stock” Avocet Fastgrip 700x23 tubulars.

All in all this is a very light road bike, but sturdy enough for everyday use since these early OCLV frames are virtually indestructible.
