Bushing burnishing/sizing is one of the most important things to do on your fork to make it perform at it's maximum. Bushings that are too tight cause stiction/friction and make the fork feel harsh, most forks come from the factory with bushings that are too tight, or slightly different sized causing excess friction. If your fork doesn't take long to feel bad again after a fresh rebuild, that means the bushings are way too tight and need to be sized. Bushings that are too tight, and also very commonly not perfectly round will scrape the oil film off of the stanchion in the fork causing excessive friction and unwanted harshness. It's a night and day difference between an unburnished fork and one that has been properly sized/burnished. A proper rebuild and bushing sizing/burnishing often makes a much bigger difference to performance than a custom tune or air spring improvement/coil spring conversions and keeps it feeling good for the entire service interval, as it targets the actual root of harshness which is chassis friction. Its the the ultimate for small bump sensitivity and all day comfort on the hands.

If your CSU requires any sort of push to compress into the lowers or does not sink into the lowers under it's own weight with the seals out, then the fork will benefit greatly from burnishing. A properly burnished fork should have the CSU drop into the lowers under its own weight with zero resistance (no seals installed), and should drop about 3" into the lowers from a very light touch from a finger with the seals in.


T-handle comes in aluminum and features a stunning bright turned finish. The interface with the burnishing head is a drive slot system that allows the tool to be turned either direction with zero chance of the head coming off and falling into the bottom of the fork. The drive slot interface is the same diameter on the handle and head to eliminate any sharp edges so there is zero chance of damaging or scratching anything on the fork.

Sizing/burnishing heads are interchangeable onto the same handle and are made of steel for durability. The heads are sized to provide the correct bushing clearance and roundness to provide an even oil film on the stanchion and are very slightly tapered on both ends for easy burnishing with low effort. Simply remove lower legs from fork, clean them, either fixture them or hold them between your legs and then make sure bushing and tool are covered with lower leg lubricant(motorex supergliss, fox 20wt gold, WPL 20wt, RS 0w-30 ect...), and then push the burnish tool back and forth through the bushings while rotating until very low resistance is felt. this will usually be about 3-5 passes per bushing depending on how tight the bushing was. You will feel the resistance decrease the more you rotate and push/pull the tool through the bushings. No need to remove wiper seals, the heads are rounded on both ends so that they slip easily through the seal.

Each tool comes standard with one head in any size of your choice, additional burnishing heads are $65 CAD each.

- 35mm (All 35mm Rockshox forks, formula forks, MRP forks, DVO Diamond, Bos Deville 35)

- 35mm specifically for certain marzocchi forks (350, 55)

- 36mm (Fox 36, DVO emerald, DVO onyx SC and DC, Manitou Dorado 2021 and older, EXT ERA)

- 37mm (Manitou Mezzer, Bos Idylle 37, Manitou dorado 2022 and newer)

- 38mm (Fox 38, RS Zeb/Domain, Ohlins 38mm forks)

- 38mm specifically for certain marzocchi forks, (66 from 2008 and newer, 888 from 2008 and newer, all model years of 380)

- 40mm (Fox 40, RS Totem)

- 42mm for "Bos Obsys" - These bushings are not burnishable due to their configuration inside the fork, and aren't the actual root cause of the stickiness but are the mechanism of transfer of the stickiness. If you have a sticky Bos Obsys, I've developed a solution that permanently fixes the problem.
