Housatonic Valley NEMBA was founded in May 2018 to promote mountain biking in the towns of Southbury, Seymour, Oxford, and Woodbury, with potential to expand along the Housatonic and Naugatuck Valley corridors.
There areseveral trail systems in our area: George Waldo SP, in Southbury built by NEMBA and "the Quillinan Reservoir Block of the Naugatuck State Forest built by Thule and NEMBA in Seymour. Also in development is Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary in Oxford. In Woodbury, a new trail, Trolley Dash, was approved by the town Parks and Recreation department and it will be built this spring by NEMBA members who live in the area. Furthermore, NEMBA has submitted a trail application for 5 miles of trail to DEEP for Great Hill Block of the Naugatuck SF in Seymour which is contiguous to Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary.
