Helderberg Trail Co. is Professional MTB Trail Building Company. Home of Helderberg Trails , a Trail center for Mountain Biking and Trail Running situated in Somerset West. Professionally built trails that cater for all riders of any skill level.
Helderberg Trails is a new venue for Mountain Biking and Trail Running. We pride ourselves on providing trails to suit every type of rider and runner, no matter the rider’s age, skill level, type of bike, or level of fitness.
Currently we offer 4 loops which can be combined to suit your need. suit your needs
Green loop for beginners – about 2km - 70m ascent
Blue loop for beginners/intermediate riders/runners – about 4 km with 150m ascent
Red loop for more advanced riders/runners – about 12km 500m ascent
Black loop for experienced riders/runners only – about 15km with 700m ascent.
There are a few combinations of the black loop, and the fun part is to seek the best loop for yourself, or to combine a few.
Helderberg Trails have some epic Enduro lines as well as world class Downhill Tracks.
Since we aim to help riders improve and reach their riding goals through the use of our trails, we are constantly building new lines and adding new features.
Look out for a pump track and other exciting features in the new year.
All the MTB trails can be used for trail running as well.
Our trails have been designed and built by Jan Van Schalkwyk (Builder of Steilte and Hermanus MTB trails) and partner Andrew Neethling - Professional Mountain Biker who honed his skills on this very mountain.
Private Shuttles are allowed
Private Shuttle permits are available at the Kiosk. Please stay on the marked shuttle routes. Be very aware of fellow riders/runners and 4x4 vehicles.
There is plenty of parking, and braai facilities, a petting zoo for the kids, a kiosk serving coffees, breakfast, cakes, cold drinks, fresh produce and other mouthwatering eats.
Next to the parking area is a bike wash facility, to make sure you don’t go home with a dirty bike.
